In a recent news post, 4j was said to have announced that an update to the console versions of minecraft will update the game to be equivalent to 1.6.4 on the pc. My question is, will anything be left out like with some of the previous updates, like redstone blocks? It confirms that we will get horses, but will we get redstone comparators, hoppers, droppers, activator rails, and tnt with minecart? What do you think we will see? I would love an ability to craft chiseled stone brick and other simple things like that that more recent updates added.
The only things they've left out before were things like the Book and Quill that they felt wouldn't work well on consoles.
However, everything from 1.4 to 1.6.4 would work easily on the console since it's all just blocks and mobs. We'll likely be getting it all which means we'll most definitely be getting...
Bats and Witches
Improved Mob AI and Mob armor/weapons
Dropper and Hopper
Weighted Pressure Plate
Varied Snow heights
New Status Effects
Horses, Donkeys, Mules
Hardened and Stained Clay
Mobs get harder the longer you're in one area
Also many, many changes to how Redstone functions (which will break nearly everything currently built)
I don't see any reason they would skip any of that. It will all work and function perfectly fine on at least the Xbox One and PS4. It might be a little more rough on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
I'm hoping for that whole list that was posted lol. I love Minecraft and honestly in February I'll be building myself a $1300 PC and I doubt that I'll play minecraft much on the console after that but it'd still be nice to see all of that list come to console. If not at least I'll be able to have everything on my beasty PC. lol
