Do you want to shoot seeds at a creeper!? well i do!

Blowgun: takes away half a heart when shot, has a little less knockback than a bow and shoots seeds, shoots slightly faster than a bow and has 185 durability, and its accuracy is less than a bow
It can be enchanted with the same enchantments as a bow
the main point in blowguns are that there cheap and have knockback, it would be mainly used to knockback mobs to keep them from attacking you, you can already do this with a bow but the blowgun would be cheaper do to seeds being very common if you build a farm or live in flatlands
This is a very simple idea so please tell me if there is anything im missing or should add below
I like the concept, but I don't think it should be enchantable; it seems like it could be too overpowered for such a cheap weapon. Also, would it have durability and if so, how many shots would it last for? Cool idea though
Sorry forgot to put the durability, anyways i think it should be able to be enchanted since its durability is so low it dosent seem like it would be OP

Does it shoot like an automatic? Because I think i'd be cool if it shot like the old bow style. Also don't think it should have a little less knockback.

I guess i could change the knockback, also i dont know what the old bow style was but i do say above it shoots slightly faster than a bow, i dont know if that would be considered automatic
Accuracy is 'better' than a bow? blowgun should be a closer range implement, the range should not nearly be as long as a bow. I can cleanly hit a target about 30 blocks away with a bow...(I have to aim about 2 blocks above the head to allow for gravity over distance)... if the blowgun is more accurate than that at those distances, I'd say it is overpowered.
I'd rather have a sling shot you could use to shoot rocks from broken down cobble stone etc.
sling or slingshot? I think a sling would be more fitting in the psuedo-medeval ambiance... but either would work, I suppose... heck, there's redstone circuitry and tnt... so I guess anything goes... maybe all the above.
2 sting and a leather (in between) for a sling.
4 sticks (in a 'Y') and a string (middle top) for a slingshot
3 sticks (diagonally) and a sling, for a staff-sling

Your right about the range.. changed it to be less accurate but i still dont see how it would be OP

The better accuracy/range was what tipped the scale for me... better accuracy/range, cheaper build than a bow, cheaper/easier mass produced ammo, enchant-able. It was getting so that bows were obsolete in their usefulness/functionality.
Adjusting the range/accuracy so that it is lower than a bow helps to restore balance, IMO
Meh... too similar to a bow to worry about taking up two more slots in the inventory. Bows are not that expensive to make (I mean all you have to do is chop one block of wood and kill 2 spiders and you usually have what you need to make one) and now you can even get them from killing skeletons. Likewise, arrows aren't really that difficult to obtain either from skeletons burning up come morning or by killing some chickens and breaking a bit of gravel. If you get an infinity enchantment, you only need 1 arrow.

Blowgun doesn't require you to fight any mobs at all... and crafting your own arrows is a pain (IMO), especially gathering the chickens to farm for feathers and finding gravel to sift through to find flint... sugar cane and seeds are much easier to come by and harvest, especially early on, IMO.
You're right, it is similar to the bow.... but I like the variety/flavor of different tools as options to choose from.

I don't mind variety, but this one I don't really see as actually adding any significant variety to the game. Firing the blowgun vs. the bow is still just a matter of aim and LT; but carrying a blowgun and a bow would eat up 4 slots in the inventory; and I'd rather leave two of those open to collect other items. So what if it's a little easier to get than a bow... it's not like a bow is really tough to get.
If you're not prepared to fight even a couple of spiders, you shouldn't need a blowgun for anything in the game, IMO. Also, wild chickens are one of the easiest passive mobs to kill for meat (one hit with a stone sword) and they often drop 2 feathers. You don't really have to farm them in many worlds as they still spawn relatively frequently (In my new TU13 survival world, I had 16 arrows and my bow pretty much on the second day). Gravel is easy enough to come by in most caves OR just quickly dig up a village walkway and you'll wind up with enough flint to keep you supplied for a very long time... and then there's the fact that skeles leave arrows lying around when they burn up in the mornings. Just camp near a desert and go for short walk in the mornings and you'll easily collect 3 or 4 or more each day.
Also, accuracy of a non-powered projectile weapon should be dependent on the player's skill... not set to be more or less accurate based on the item. The bow and arrow in Minecraft currently does a pretty good job of emulating real ballistic arcs.

I must be in worlds deficient of poultry availability......or hell.... village availability for that matter.
