I have been looking for a more in-depth set of inviting options! How exciting *sarcasm* no but seriously there needs or at least people want a better way of controlling who can join there game and who can send invites etc... So I have come up with a somewhat simple yet effective solution. Whether it can actually be implemented I do not know but feel free to take a look at it and comment below. Thanks!

You can set whether or not other people can join from the options menu and starting up the game.
To do this you'd click start>Inviting or choose the options before starting the game.
-
Inside the inviting menu there should be a set of 4 groups of check boxes as follows:
-
1. Invite Only
2. Friends, Friends of Friends, Friends and Friends of Friends, Non Friends, Friends and Non Friends (No Friends of Friends), Friends of Friends and Non Friends, Anyone
3. Public
4. Friends, Friends of Friends, Friends and Friends of Friends, Non Friends, Friends and Non Friends (No Friends of Friends), Friends of Friends and Non Friends, Anyone, Only I, No one (not even I can invite)
-
The first group "Invite Only" option would control whether or not you can click "join session in progress".
The second group would control who can be invited by clicking "invite to game" or by clicking "join session in progress" (Obviously the first group would control whether or not join session in progress is visible).
The third group "Public" would control whether or not people can simply search for your game and join it in the game (There would need to be a game searching option added to the games Main Menu.
The last group would control who can invite people into the game when in the game (Obviously the host would always be able to invite people unless the “no one” box was checked off).
-
Clearly these inviting options would need to be shown before clicking load game. Once in the game those options shown would be able to be modified from the Inviting menu. The inviting menu would have different selected options depending on the map loaded. The only way to modify the options for a new game being created would be to go to the Minecraft Xbox main menu and modify the "Inviting" options from there. Lastly each group of checkboxes can have only one checkbox checked at a time (This means the rest of the checkboxes in that group would be "greyed out" until the checkbox checked off is unchecked). Lastly, on each player that joins the game you should be able to choose whether or not players can join there session in progress and whether or not they can invite players. This would add another two checkboxes to each individual player on their card where it displays the build and mine options etc...

I am sorry for the rather complexity but I don't know how many times I have had to add someone just so they could join my game... Rather frustrating. Yes I realize I have missed some inviting options like not allowing the host to invite but others to invite (This wouldn't make sense)...
Who would use some of these?
Most of them are good but really?
Friends of friends and non friends?
Why would you want complete strangers but not friends?
I think it can be easily categorised into public, F&FOF, friends.
Then maybe anyone can join with an invite.
Also if we're gonna have lots of randoms from public we need zones.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
I know the amount of options seems ridiculous but someone might have an instance where they want there game to be joinable by the "public" but they don't want the possibility of there friends joining. Obviously there would need to be a "zone" setting as you said where you set 2 sets of coordinates and that creates the boundary a player joining is allowed to work. Again there would probably need to be a global setting for friends that join, friends of friends, non friends. Then a setting on a placers card where ÿou can change this setting unique to the player. But yeah still I think this should be implemented so I might as well bump this thread.
Just wanted to revive my suggestion threads as most of them took a lot of thought and IMO are great additions into the game. So I will be bumping this thread and several other suggestion threads I have made for MC Xbox360. If this infringes on the forum rules (Which I am not sure if this is the case) feel free to remove this post (Not the thread please).
