Our armor just simply doesn't look good. No detail, no arm protection, no shoulder protection, minimal face protection, yeah. You might disagree with me, but look at other games. Some helmets in other games have feathers on top. Please put detail into your armor. I might change my faithful pack on the PC because the armor is still under detailed. Even if Xbox can only handle 16x packs, they can still add more detail. This is one of the reasons I don't wear it.
RADIOACTIVE56 you must be very bored on the xbox 360 minecraft. Cheer up though in a couple of weeks something else will be release and then you will get that adrenaline rush. (Not referring to minecraft update)

I agree it is boring and uninspired. I would like it if the armour you wear was directly connected to the skins available. For example leather armour would require a leather style skin, etc, etc, and no armour was ever shown only the skin chosen
I threw this in the Small Suggestions thread a week or so ago... still a good idea. And honestly, why have a skin if you're going to have a solid-color armor on it most of the time?
I feel crusade armor would look cool. You see what I mean, right? Our armor just doesn't look great. I'm sorry, I feel I spent 20 dollars on jack (Bleep). PC has a lot more features, infinite worlds, and the like, but maybe if the devs cared, they could make up for it with vanilla features. You know, it is the small changes that add feel to the game. I want to be intimidated by someone wearing armor, not want to laugh at how stupid they look. I never wear armor. Never. Maybe I would if it didn't look so stupid. It looks ridiculous on most skins. Why not have a helmet that looks like this?
As of now, you just look like the royal tin can.
How about this?
Wow, not even bloodyphoenix shot my topic down. Just wow. Anyways, with our current armor, if there was armor shaped like that in real life, which I could never find armor shaped like it, cutting their head off would be as easy as cutting a watermelon in half.
I randomly searched Google images for Minecraft armor to see if there were any out there that I thought would look decent but were not extremely high-def.
This picture comes from this thread (for a texture pack)
Another one, which is much higher resolution but offers some more of the details that are lacking in our current armor set, comes from here (another texture pack)
My biggest issue with our current armor is that it looks like a solid piece of metal/leather/diamond that covers you, which makes no sense, as you would need joints for your limbs to move. Of course, this entire idea may become obsolete with the addition of texture packs. Either way, it would be nice for those without the skin packs to have nicer looking armor.

The first armor you added just adds little detail to the current armor, but the second one looks great.
A armor skin pack? Is that whats wanted? If so i agree that would be cool to have even adding different types of armor to the crafting menu would be cool, even if they gave the same protection and used the same materials to craft as the existing ones.

Not quite, though the texture packs that we'll get will likely add another texture for the armor. This suggestion is for a change to the vanilla texture for armor, as it is a solid color and, quite frankly, doesn't even look like armor. We want something that, when worn, makes you feel epic. Like an actual knight, as opposed to a knight skin covered up by a suit of solid iron or diamond.
EDIT- I was going to say this originally but I wasn't sure if it was changed in the update or if it was just from a texture pack, but the texture for leather armor is changed in TU12 (it's the same as the texture on the PC now), and those are the types of changes I'd like to see.

I wouldn't mind each type having its own unique design instead of each having the same shape and texture (arguable with Chain).
Stay fluffy~
