slime balls.. hmm... wouldn't be a bad thing... As that would at least give more use to a slime farm beyond pistons... I'd be up for that part. I understand trying to make it so it is not so easy, but make it too tough of an extra item to obtain, then it would be kinda pointless to make bone when you could just make iron. So at least within reason.
I don't mind something being added as long as it is not a rare thing to get or something that takes forever or too long to obtain. Mainly because if it takes too long there would be no reason to make as you would eventually have more of another material to keep a steady supply. hmm.. could be a combination of string, slime balls and bone. 1 or so slime and the rest would have to be string. To at least make sense and utilize something we can get regularly if we put some thought in going about those materials.
is an alternative. still like the idea of having a light dark bone, but 1 type would be fine. Still though it should not be geared toward grinders as that is bad example. wheat is actually not too hard to get. Just like the little effort in building the skelly farm same can be said on the things needed for cow farm. Either way just having an extra option would be nice.:D

I dont think we should rationalize with real world physics. You can chop down trees with your hand.
(Sorry Panda - Im not singling you out, just making a point)
It's not really real world physics.. it's thinking logically.

Come to think of it... it actually makes sense even with a stone sword, cows are more easier to kill than a skelly... Sure both are easy to obtain, but if you think about it when hunting especially early on it is much easier to just don a sword and kill a cow herd than to go around trying to off a few skeletons that only have a slight possible chance to drop 1-2 bones. Of course the skelly does take more to kill them. That is the logic for that I had originally with just using regular bone would be fine, and the prime reason it would be tougher than leather.hmm....

Hey thanks for the support. I only equated the protection value to that of leather bc of the ease in which bones can be obtained. It would really only be something you would use in a pinch - such as caving on Hard when your chestplate breaks for example. You are more likely to have bones than leather. . . then again, you are also likely to have iron.
Maybe combining bone with blaze powder (strength - like in brewing) to make a new item used for armor recipe? Equal to chain (which can't be crafted).
EDIT - Someone mentioned Elder Scrolls (bonemold armor) and it gave me an idea:
5 bones (or bone meal) and 4 blaze powder in a crafting table (using a configuration similar to tnt) makes bone aggregate.
Use bone aggregate to craft armor.
Thoughts and critiques?
maybe, you could make the bone armor, with blaze powder,to make a suit that glows red...

Well that has been noted, but in my opinion it would have to be more powerful than iron if that was one of the ingredients... but that is my opinion... Interesting addition though.... I was thinking black set of bone armor opposite of the white you would with just bones. Having red highlights on it might make it more intriguing or at least different from the regular bone. As I said before I actually wouldn't mind there being 2 types of bone armor, but it would not bother me either way within reason.:D

How many of you think 4J should add bone armor to the console version of MC? It could have the same protection grade as leather just with a different texture.
With my duel skelly spawner (-1252819554 x189 y56 z196) Ive got two double chests nearly full of bones, an army of dogs, and OCD so I cant stop picking-up more. I need help. I need Bone Armor.
Think this would be a good addition?
if its stronger than leather yes if its the same as leather then no its just more work
