As I just started, I had no real expectations or real needs on the update as many have wanted to see in the console version but I am enjoying this update a lot so far. My breakdown of the features listed on Wiki:
I will likely use the Jungle Wood Fences on swampy structure builds, so again, very good add for my purposes. Probably wont use the Birch wood
ones, will likely never use Spruce wood anything, sans door.
I really like the Spruce Wood door that was "added" to the Skyrim Mashup. MUCH better than the original door. The others seem ok, not sure
if I will use them, but good to have the option.
Added Iron Trapdoor, Inverted Daylight Sensor, Book and Quill, Stained Glass and Stained Glass Panes.
I wish the Iron trap door shut like you can on the wooden one, but not a biggie. I so far just use as deco on the outside of houses. Sensor likely will never pertain to me unless I create a modern city.
Book n quill I wish could be a placable object for all to read. Oh well.
Ahh, stained glass. Loving the black glass for the houses. Original one was very nice, Black is that much better.
Added Custom Superflat User Interface, allowing players to customize superflat world generation.
Excellent add. At the very least now there is space between the ground and bedrock. Additions to customize the world is also awesome, the forest will suit me. Hopefully in the future, more customizations will happen, like adding different biomes to a superflat world.
Added new in-game options to allow changing game mode, difficulty setting, time of day, and spawn position per player, and disable or enable ambient cave sounds, and weather settings.Added new in-game options to allow changing game mode, difficulty setting, time of day, and spawn position per player, and disable or enable ambient cave sounds, and weather settings.
One word: PERFECT! Disabling rain was what I hoped for, Change night and day by a click? NICE! Even changing the game mode from Survival to Creative was awesome as I forgot to change in set up.
Split Load/Join interface into Create/Load/Join.
Took a couple to get used to, but like how they separate the saved worlds from preset and new creation.
Changed Game Mode selection to a slider
Wasnt a biggie for me
Added Classic Crafting option, so you can now craft the same way as on the Java version if you really want to! This option is available in the UI settings menu.Added Classic Crafting option, so you can now craft the same way as on the Java version if you really want to! Will likely never use this
Enabled USB keyboard use for Book and Quill.
Same as above

In conclusion this update satiates me personally. I am sure as time goes on I would love to see more added, such as customizing villagers for shops and a 'currency' or downloadable 3rd party options (mods, skins, textures, etc).

I dont really use gates, so not really a big deal for me.

Perpetually negative
The glass and power to change modes and such freely is nice; the lack of farmland and door superflats is not.
Stay fluffy~
I dislike that I can't play survival on flat lands any more....
Well you can, but you can't get the achievments.
I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.
