The only thing I've seen was in reference to the 12 or 20 million in sales done in the Candy Texture pack. I guess we'll have to wait till Friday and see what's in it, unless they release something this week prior to Friday's release.
I feel like I am the only one who likes it.
Eggstone aside, this texture pack did its job--being a candy-themed texture pack.
While it is a little too bright for my tastes, I can see some interesting things coming about using it.

What has been up with 4J and the terrible texture packs? The only ones that were actual worth buying were Natural, Fantasy, and MAYBE Plastic. Plastic was more of a niche thing but I didn't like it all that much. Oh yeah and bringing this back to the Candy Texture Pack, it's terrible.

Oh hey. Looks like you're reading my signature. That's nice. If you thought I was going to put something funny here, I'm not. I will however put a link to my suggestion about gold tools. I think it's fairly popular. It would be nice if it was added. Just click the link and look at it. Please? I'm desperate. http://www.minecraft...-arent-useless/
I have all of them, mostly because I can (they are cheap anyway). Candy is kinda cool IMHO but VERY NICHE...and I can't play on it too long without turning gamma down, hurts my eyes with so much color! But it looks cool to think of doing a Hansel and Gretyl or Candyland world.
The mashups.. are what they are. If you want to make a game themed in those settings, they're for you. The plastic one, with its grid pattern made me physically ill underground. The other 16 bit ones, just weren't my thing, though of all of them, the Halloween one was my favorite, because I'm a sucker for Halloween themed anything.
Natural- looks great except for smooth stone. I like for that to actually have a non tiling, flat color for simplicity and so ore stands out more. Still, I used it quite a lot until..
Mideval- the one I use most. A bit on the gaudy side with all the gold trim but still, works well and looks good.
City- This one is also good, but only if you're building with a modern theme, obviously.

On the contrary, I like it quite a bit. I suspect my daughter and I may switch to playing our survival world exclusively in this pack. She loves it and I think it's funny.
I tried the Candy Texture trial version just to say I tried it before poo-poo'ing it. Gawds, that's a lot of pink. There were some things I liked, but I could pass on the chocolate chickens, the candy grass and the pink cake dirt. Lie witht eh plastic texture, it's just too saturated color-wise.
I wish I could pick and chose from the different texture packs and make on my own custom one. I like the Fantasy, but the gold trim on everything is a bit much (and seriously, *that* is suppose with be a wooden door?) and I'm currently using City in my new Creative world but am annoyed with the wool textures, the cats' colors (one is suppose to be a "Sphinx" type but he looks like the City Texture Pack pigs!) and Natural is nice except the stone texture is so busy it make going into mines a headache. I like the Skyrim but only have the trial version, and I hate its glowstones and redstone lamps, and as much as I love the look of the ME one, I find it so confusing that so many blocks look nothing like their originals.
I would kill to be able to mix and match, Its too bad they couldn't come up with an app to allow us to do just that, id easily pay 10$ or 20$ for the app.
I really hate the candy based one, and I don't care for the plastic one, however it does make following and editing redstone contraptions much easier.

I find it amusing to load the Skyrim world or the Mass Effect world with other texture packs like candy, city, or halloween. I don't really use any of it for serious play. The mash-ups have to be loaded and saved once before you can change the texture pack, but since these worlds were already created in "creative mode" , I just load them in creative and fly around and look at the different textures.
Does anyone have any info about the Candyland-ish texture pack being hinted at?
Also, what is with the glowstone? Are they sunny side-up eggs? Eggs aren't candy.
