if you miss a limited time offer its your own fault.
Everything else I can agree with to a point except this...
I think you are forgetting the fact that some people are unable to get these offers and it isn't their fault but something else. (Depends on the situation).
For me, I didn't get any of the packs, like I wanted to, because I am stuck with dial-up where I live... I can't even connect to Xbox Live. Only time I do get onto Xbox Live would be when I go to a friend's house, which is rare for me to do since I live in the middle of nowhere basically and cannot get a ride ever to go to any of my friends' places, whom most lives around an hour drive away...
None of that is my fault.
So... Before you go blaming an individual themselves about NOT getting a limited time DLC, ask them why they missed it... Sometimes it is their fault, others it is NOT their fault. And yes, that is why I dislike limited time offers when it comes to DLCs for games. It is unfair to those who rarely get the chance to download DLCs.
Who downloads stuff for games they dont have? If you dont have the game your not going to pay attention to limited time offers.
I frequently downloaded free content for games I didn't currently own. Why? Because then I owned that content. It didn't have to stay on my HDD, I just had to click on it and download it. If I got the game later, then I could just redownload it again.
If people missed it, they missed it. Tough luck. I missed seeing Jurassic Park in theaters when they re-released it in 3D a while ago. I'm not going to go storming up to a movie theater and demand they put he movie back up just because I missed it.
The lack of the texture pack is a disadvantage to every person who owns the game, not just those who "missed it".
To continue with your daft analogy, in Minecraft terms I can go and watch Jurrassic Park at the cinema whenever I want now, but you cannot come with me, ever, because you "missed it" and, in fact, a large portion of the movie won't play for me either because you "missed it."
Then watch a different movie.
Go to redbox and rent one you can both see.
Halloween texture pack is only fun for so long. Unless you're on a complete themed world you're better off with something else.
Fantasy pack is great for mining because you never miss a block when cave diving. Plus water looks cool in it.
Natural pack in my opinion has a very classic rpg look to it.
Plastic will make you feel like you're playing in a toy box. Get the army skins and play sarges heroes.
City is like sim city in its look. Recreate a gta map and you'll be right at home. Or even the Stanley parable.
Candy crush texture pack is nearing release. Wonka's factory anyone?
It sucks that someone missed it but that's not 4j's fault. Send a letter to the cable company. The limited stuff they released wasn't that great anyway. I have the Halloween texture pack. I've played with it a lot. It has novelty but that about it. You're not missing much. It's like getting upset that you missed a tom cruise movie. Or cloud atlas. Or captain Philips. Or anything with tom hanks in the past 10 years. Or anything with Sean penn ever. Point is there's a lot of movies you think you'll like, you'll make a big fuss about them, and then they fizzle in front of you. Trust me, I was excited over the Halloween pack. Now, I used it for the first time in 6 months to see what villagers looked like.
Farmer is cyclops, butcher is mad scientist, priest is vampire, forgot what the other 2 are. I think librarian is a skeleton and blacksmith is Frankenstein.
Just to be fair. I do agree that I am not missing out on anything... Don't really want any of them anyways. I just still support the idea of re-releasing them and such.

Its really stupid to have limited time updates for a game like this. My little cousin was out of town when the haloween pack came out and was pretty sad that he couldnt get it. I really dont see why we should care how rare the updates are. This isnt a trading card game afterall. Lets just get everything available. They dont take up that much space and its really dumb not to have everything available.
I don't think they should be put up again. They were greatly advertised and were available for a decent amount of time for most of them. Even if you didn't have Minecraft you could have still downloaded them from either the Marketplace on the console or from Xbox.com.
The saying "You snooze, you lose" comes to mind.
I agree with you but at the time I was having more important things on my mind while each one of the skin packs and Halloween texture pack came out, I tried to download them on the computer at the time so I could have them and my account wouldn't accept the fact that I wanted to download them. So now i only have the birthday skin pack. Doesn't bother me much though, I love being the slime.

Eurgh If you actually check the Minecraft birthday advert on the xbox dashboard you will see the first birthday skin aswell as the second birthday pack. For the haloween pack try waiting till haloween? As for charity packs they are legally a little diffrent, maybe if they talk to the charity, they might be able to re-sell it?
