So I have used my ender eyes to find a stronghold and when I found it it is severely dfoermed and appears to have no end portal. Do all strongholds have end portals?
It is very rare for strongholds not to have an end portal! Its very weird that it was deformed... It could be a glitch through. Sometimes, the end portal isn't always with the stronghold. :I Hope I helped-probably not because i'm a n00b :I

Did you actually find the portal room? They can be extremely difficult to locate sometimes. You know you've found it if there is a pool of lava with a silverfish spawner. If you haven't found that yet, then keep looking.
The only way your stronghold wouldn't have a portal is if it gets cutoff by the edge of the world.

I had found one like that in TU8, it was a downer, but the rest of the terrain that generated was epic (though it got ruined in TU9 from slight changes to how the extreme hills & villages spawned now (removed some awesome deep water caverns (average of 7 blocks deep, some parts 12 blocks) inside the extreme hills, and cut both villages size in half. glad i created and fully explored 2 copies of the seed (one creative, and one survival) along with my original creative map.)
it's 8674183965822414668 and its in a desert biome near a swamp
Seed: 8674183965822414668
Warning, digging straight down to this one will result in several falls through open caves.
(TU8)Stronghold Surface Point (dig straight down to get to next): -362,67,235
(TU8)End Portal (standing right on Silverfish Spawner): -362,15,235
The eye of ender does not lead you directly to the portal, but when you are in the stronghold use my favorite trick. it requires 1 rail 1 minecart and 1 tnt, place them like this
T=tnt R-rail M= minecart
T
M
R
sit in the minecart and see through the world!

all I found is a huge lava pond just to double check the seed is 8674183965822414668

On the TU9 created version at the TU8 coordinates all I find is lava as well. Try the TU9 coordinates.
Try the following coordinates:
(TU9)Stronghold Surface Point (dig straight down to get to next): -133,64,109
(TU9)End Portal (standing right on Silverfish Spawner): -133,25,109

You may have just found an example of a bugged world when loaded between TUs. All versions I was able to find the nearby mineshaft remnants.
Seed: 8674183965822414668
Test:
Created world with seed on TU8, followed Eyes of Ender on TU8 and explored/found stronghold on TU8 at coordinates listed for TU8
Created world with seed on TU9, followed Eyes of Ender on TU9 and explored/found stronghold on TU9 at coordinates listed for TU9
Created world with seed on TU8, immediately saved the game and exited, connected USB_2 with TU9 on it, rebooted console, loaded game, followed Eyes of Ender on TU9 and found no Stronghold. Eyes of Ender lead to same stronghold coordinates around -368,69,190 as though created on TU8. Dug straight to bedrock without hitting a stronghold. Could not find the End Portal room at all. So, it would seem to depend on how much exploring of the area you did on the TU prior to and after the Stronghold generation code changed.
Summary,
Created and loaded/explored/found on TU8 = OK
Created and loaded/explored/found on TU9 = OK
Created TU8 and loaded/explored on TU9 = Broken/Missing
Eye of Ender Surface Coordinates are approximate based on throwing a large group and observing landing pattern.
