Actually I am extremely dissapointed yet again. I wish they would just get us caught up with the pc in one update. I mean the last update was basically about the end and that was fun for like 15 minutes. We need all of the new stuff and new mobs and be able to make a ton of new things. I will say the ocelots would be cool if I could actually find one on my map. I have pretty much lived in my huge jungle and havent seen one.
They gave us a lot with this update and just not something like an item you can put your hands on. They gave us new hostile mob AI, they gave us new villager AI, and the gave us parts of the Anvil File Format, changing the architecture of the game. Plus a new biome, double build height, new mobs, new items, new redstone features, new items, a new look for dropped items, and texture/mash-up pack support. They gave us quite a bit, people just like to complain and be dissatisfied with something that they are getting for free.
A Mash-Up pack is a way to change the look and feel of Minecraft into another game. Included is a texture pack, sound pack, new user interface, new mob skins, and a themed world (think of a famous/recognizable map or scene from a game or movie). As for more info, we won't know until they tell us more or we actually get them.
It's strange how everybody seems to think that is new when I've experienced them do so before the update. Maybe they just open them more frequently now?
People end up disappointed by focusing on what they can't do. The End was fun for all of 15 minutes? That's not anyone's fault but your own (this could apply to multiple people so eh). The End allows for some great, unique builds, both technical (Enderman Mob Farm) and visual (I made a large Kingdom Hearts style pillar/ platform that took several hours over several night IN creative; something I may repeat at larger heights if the End is affected as well). The build height increase ALONE is awesome, but we also have redstone lamps, upside-down stairs/slabs (haven't used them yet, but I hope they adjust how they're placed, since that could get tedious), the jungle biome which comes with ocelots and the ability to grow cocoa.
They also brought forward some things that they could fit in, an AWESOME quality that 4J has demonstrated in past updates, such as being able to smelt netherack into netherbricks, a relatively recent update on the PC, and definitely well ahead of our current TU. They added mob heads (creative only, same as PC save for wither skelly heads, which they included) and 3D item drops.. again, a pretty recent update on the PC. Lets also remember that there's new DLC coming that should prove to be a great change of pace.
I love the update. The reason it took so long is because of switching to Anvil Format, coding new biomes, BUG FIXING... When it comes to adding features, 4J do it quick. TU7 is a example of that. However long a update takes, it's always worth a wait. Besides, your getting FREE content! So why are you complaining? And for those who think we aren't catching up to PC have no experience of code but they should know that we went from 1.6 Beta to 1.2.3 almost in a year! Updates for the Xbox are getting out faster then a couple of PC ones.
No its not as good as i was hoping for. Cocoa pod announcement spoiled my hopes and led to the fantasy of 1.3. I do love some of the small things they added like redstone lamps, and everything new about stairs is bomb, but theres a few things i still hoping for(emeralds).
I'm extremely disappointed. This surprises me, since this update contains 2 major additions that I've been eager to have (Redstone Lamps, and upside-down slabs & stairs). Unfortunately, the irreversible changes the update made to the terrain in my world have pretty much killed my desire to play. I've been building for 8 months, and my world is completely buggered. Getting ocelots is like offering me a cookie after burning my house down.
And the pathetic mine-cart speed is just salt in the biome-shift wound.
It's even better. There was a hidden feature that they included that was not listed in the change log: water source blocks in deep water now re-create adjacent source blocks without needing a block underneath, the way it does in PC 1.6
You do not understand how happy I am about this. <3
wow that I didn't know... That means less drowning in the ocean at least...:D
I person didn't dream of anything for the update as I got what was intended to be in the update, (upside down stuff) although a be buggy on the lighting for at least the upside down slabs, it is still a step forward. I don't mind the biome shifts, as I still have my 1.7.3 world that I work with. And now my TU8-9 World(unsure when I started it.). Of course I started a new map, mainly so I can have a jungle map that I could work with, but that is fine. It gives me more to do, and more variety in which world I want to mess around with. I for one am loving the update despite the few minor bugs that I have encountered. At least it wasn't like those lighting bugs of the past... it is bearable, and I can work with it until they are corrected.
Enjoying what I can with what I have. That is the way to go, at least for me.:D

This alone is what's keeping me away from updating. I still can't believe they actually did this to us. All our designs and even approach to the game relied on fast carts since the game's release. To suddenly take so much utility away, well, enough said. Eventually, I'll relent. Not yet, though.
Oh, an additional note now that I've been playing the update more.
My first rare drop from a mob was a full-durability Power 1 bow from a normally-spawned skeleton (no grinders (ever)), when I was still so new to the world that I hadn't had the time to gather string or an enchant table.
Oh, also, the new smart mobs are making me squeal all manly-like a lot more than they used to, which is saying a lot.
So it's all very exciting! I can't wait to be able to play around with the new changes to their fullest!

I am very happy with everything that was added in TU12 however I am disappointed with what was rumoured to be added and wasn't
I don't get it, how can you be disappointed? Something people on here thought was gonna be in it you fell for too? Everyone basically knew it was gonna be 1.2. If you didn't pardon me, however the change log was 1.2 and more. We weren't getting much of anything past it. I'd understand if 4J put something in the changelog that didn't get put in the update. However, getting disappointed about an update because it didn't have stuff you thought should have been in it is pretty stupid.
Well...I mean...not really...its an improvement but I was really disappointed that there was no wither skellys wither boss anvils enchant books or temples...I know that's kind of asking for a lot but even things like creative only mob heads and no armored mobs was a bit of a buzzkill I know that xbox ones coming out and they don't really care about 360 anymore but im just hoping we'll get tu14 before we get abandoned

didn't really know mobs had those on the xbox yet...>< Wasn't in the change log... so that is something special.:D I personally haven't fought enough mobs to even have much a change for any to drop...lol
Even though I keep seeing some odd behaviors here and there, I am still enjoying this one...

They'll continue updating the 360 version after the One version is released. And they've also promised many features, such as Anvils, Horses, the Wither, and Hoppers. And they never said the things you mentioned would be in it, and they weren't added in 1.2.1 of the PC version, so there should have been no reason to expect any of that.

Just so you know. It's kind of funny how much stuff was on there that people seemed to miss.

I love the odd behavior. The fact that the mobs can be so unpredictable just makes the terrifying. I think the pathfinding might be a bit buggy but I didn't test it enough to make a bug report yet. But I've had a creeper track me without having ever drawn line of sight, which took me by surprise because I certainly didn't see it. I was deep into a well lit and secured area smelting some iron up, and a creeper comes moseying on up to me. I heard the footsteps it made above me before it found me, too. It must have taken a really complicated path to find me, too. I've also had one drop into the other side of a wide cave from me and look at me in a passive way, but as soon as I moved, it started chasing me. Same with a zombie I found. It had a path to me, I was maybe 6 blocks away, and it just stood there looking around. It's spooky.

I was imagining these huge trees. (It won't let me put a picture .)
I already knew what the jungles look like, but I was too excited for TU12. My imagination was getting ahead of itself.
