Guess I'm just hoping that 4J didn't flat out lie in their patch notes and its a bug or user error. Guess we'll find out.. unless someone from 4J wishes to post here and let us know.
Not professions but they should be able to use doors to get away from zombie sieges.
Even if it does turn out to be a bug, its still a complete lie. If they told us its in the game but it doesnt work even the slightest bit, isnt that the same as it not being in the game?
The funny thing about the height limit on the livestream is she seemed to completely ignore people telling her that she did not go to where the height limit is suppposed to be at. It worries me that she knows that as well and just chose to not say anything like we are stupid and do not notice or something. Hopefully 4jsteve will shed some insight on some of these things missing.
Just to be asking which update did villagers receive professions? Im having a hard time tracking it down in the release notes for pc minecraft.

No its not. A lie means they knew it didn't work, said it did and released it anyway. A bug means they think it works, released it, and then found out something went wrong. Otherwise every bugged feature would be a deliberate lie instead of a mistake.

A lie is an intentional mis-truth told with the intention of deceiving. To say they are lying is a pretty strong statement. If it is a bug, it is obviously not intended on their part. But yeah, I have been looking forward to the increase in build height quite a bit, so I really hope it was just her error, but it just didn't look like it to me...
Honestly, I think they could have went to a zoo and got a monkey to play this better than she did. Its like she knows nothing at all about minecraft. She was all surprised when she got to the top where the clouds were like she thought that was the new height limit. Also it felt like she didnt even read the change log and knew nothing about what was actually in the update.

Lol you honestly think they didnt know that it was bugged? The only possible way that would be true is if they didnt even test it at all.

As they alluded to on their twitter, fix one bug and it creates 5 more bugs. It is entirely possible that a change that they made fairly late in the testing process messed it up without them realizing it. Just sayin. They deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Edit: Plus we don't even know for sure that it is bugged in the first place.

Even so, how can they say that something is in the game without testing it? Its like they are saying " we're giving you all a million dollars" then they hand us 1 dollar and say "you will get the rest of it later". Also just check the video, it confirms several "bugs".

Alright then, if you assume they knew, then what exact benefit is it to them to post something in a change log they knew to be false? Its a free update that goes to everybody playing the game so they can't hope to sell more because its there. Having it there only for it not to really exist has absolutely zero benefit and will only generate a backlash when people find out.
Only an idiot lies for absolutely no reason, to their own detriment.

I certainly understand your frustration. To be told we would get a great feature and for whatever reason not have it, would be quite disappointing to say the least. I'm just making the point that people make mistakes and 4J would have no reason to intentionally deceive us. If it is, in fact, bugged, I will certainly be disappointed but it's not really fair for people to accuse 4J of having bad intentions.
All im trying to say is how the hell do they not check to make sure the new changes work when they get done with them all. They obviously knew that it was bugged and did not work but they decided to tell us we were getting these features.
They did check. But a development environment is not the same as a user one. If it were, no game would ever have bugs.
And we don't yet know it was a bug. They had some other issues caused by their equipment and it could still have been user error, lag or any number of things so until it launches or we get some official word, I'll leave it at that.
Its not just a "user error". Go watch the first live stream and go to about 57:30. She clearly has plenty of room to build and tries to place a block several times. The only thing that happens is that it makes the sound of placing the block but does nothing more.

There are really only four possibilities about what's going on here.
1. The increased build height was intended but is bugged and it slipped through testing by mistake. (IMO most likely)
2. They intentionally deceived us for no personal benefit other than to mess with people. (IMO extremely unlikely)
3. They were going to include the build height but couldn't manage to pull it off and mistakenly added it to the change list. (IMO pretty unlikely)
4. The build height is fine and we're freaking out about nothing. (IMO entirely possible)
Honestly we'll just have to wait until someone clarifies it or when we get the update ourselves.

There are only 2 things that could have happened here. 1: they didn't even check to see if the content was working and just told us its in the game, or 2: they checked the content and knew it was bugged but still decided to LIE to us and say "hey guys look what ur getting in the next update" while knowing the whole time that it doesn't work.

You cant honestly tell me that a PROFESSIONAL company doesn't know to CHECK THEIR WORK before releasing it.
Your posts seem to get more and more ignorant. 4J would not tell us that something is in the update and just lie. What the heck would be the benefit? It's clearly a bug if it's even true. Nobody would know unless it's confirmed by actual people.

Even a professional company is composed of humans, and humans make mistakes. I'm not saying that it should happen, just that it can and does happen and I'm not about to break out the torches and pitchforks over it if we have to wait a few more weeks for increased build height. If you want to make a stink (if it even does turn out to be bugged) go right ahead, but I'm just happy to be getting free content updates for a game I paid for over a year ago.
