I find it better getting everything one by one. It add more excitement to the updates. You will always have something to expect for. Keep you attached to the game until the update comes out. The slow progess allows for the updates to be less buggy and the developers can possibly form new ideas for the future during the development. If we got everything at once, 1. The update will take forever to come out. 2. We will have nothing to look foward to. 3. There will be countless of bug fixes.
It would be resolve in everyone just leaving the game after a few weeks after thinking the game is getting old and they know that there is nothing to look foward to.
Oh man people are complaining because villagers cannot trade? I remember playing Minecraft before 90% of the stuff that's here today and still thought it was really enjoyable.

I think villagers are a great chance for 4J to use when they divert from the PC minecraft (the exclusive features). I'd love to become friends with a villager and have them as a companion who can mine for me and collect materials!
The problem I can see with mining is lava. What do they do about lava? Having my tame villager incinerated would be bad. Having part of my diggings flooded with lava because he dug a hole in the wrong spot would be worse! Also, there's the matter of enchanted picks. I wouldn't want a villager just digging through diamonds without a Fortune-enchanted pick.
They have those farms, though. Maybe they could harvest wheat for us? Or what about chopping trees? You lead your tame villager to a tree and tell him "chop this one" and all the wood drops and waits for you to pick it up? I'm starting to like this idea.
Also , please stop fighting. We are a community that shares a common interest in a great game. We may disagree at times , but the main thing is that we all want Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition to be the best it can be.
Actually, from the point of view of a person in the thick of things, I don't really see any fighting going on. I see a lot of interesting discussion, and one single individual who feels the need to call names and insult people who don't see things his way. If you ignore his tantrums, though, the rest is good discussion.

Wheat field maintenance by villagers would be a great idea. Even if they couldn't be made to harvest it, perhaps they could be made to retill and replant areas damaged by animals, hostile mobs, and careless players that jump all over it. I also like the idea of enabling them to chop trees - Perhaps the villager AI could be programmed to recognize any trees planted within the village boundary as being harvestable by them and then automatically replant saplings in that same spot once they harvest. The player could create a tree farm area recognized by the villagers by merely planting trees within the village boundary. Then wood could be a relatively cheap trading item offered by villagers who have harvested trees (regardless of their assigned profession - whenever we get those and trading).
Maintenance would be nice. Since my initial spawn point in this game was right by a village, I haven't bothered to set up my own wheat farm or anything; I've just been using the villagers' wheat farms as needed. It's annoying to go to check on your farm and finding a little pink pig jumping up and down on the wheat. (and he usually gets a few more jumps in while being converted to pork chops) After all, the villagers supposedly planted those fields in the first place; why can't they replant them?
I'm starting to think that we should relocate this discussion to the wish list thread. (also, the ad server is advertising Subway "chicken & bacon ranch melt" subs at me ... either it's context-sensitive or lunch-sensitive, but either way it's working....)
I don't know why 4J hates us, but one thing is certain: I definately Hate myself....
I read this entire groan-inducing, poor punctuation-ridden thread. I'm gonna celebrate with some cake.
ps- next time anyone feels the need to complain about what is or isnt in the game, clear your system cache, unplug the ethernet cable and play the original Minecraft 360e.
Why don't we all put ourselves in a villagers shoes? Okay. We're walking around, already sort of angry looking, then some b-hole comes into our villages, destroys our houses and takes our crops, robs the blacksmith then stabs our cousin George with a pickaxe. Be a little sympathetic :'(

Hey, I always replant the crops! And I put in nice stairs to the houses that don't have any!
I'll admit to robbing the blacksmith, though. Then again, my landscaping services ought to be worth something. And zombie-killing, when zombie sieges come into the game.
I have read this thread in its entirety and I have a couple points I would like to discuss.
When MC was originally released on the PC there was a limited amount of blocks and things you could do. Even now the game is not finished. When they decided to introduce it for the XBox, a decision was made to follow the progression of the PC. Which it has been doing so at a rapid rate.
We are very lucky that we only had to pay the initial $20 for the game and are able to get all of these updates for free. Most every other game that adds new features has to release it as a DLC which cost additional money to the consumer.
Before you can walk you have to crawl.
If they were to add all of the recent features at once (new terrain, randomly generated structures, new mobs, new items, new game mode, new realms) , the bug list would make the game unplayable. Adding features in steps allows them to fix bugs as they come before adding new features.
Some people just like to complain and walk through life dissatisfied. Others appreciate what they have and enjoy life.
We live in the age of entitlement. People want things now because it's what they deserve.
Trolls troll while crying troll so they can troll.
If any of this upsets anybody, that's your own damn fault for being sensitive.
To be honest thanks for the reply, you my friend seem to understand what a thread means in a forum. Awesome response.
I hope that they do add trading in a future update but still wonder what they are going to do to separate 360 version from PC version.
They have already done quite a bit of things differently then PC. Prime example is the crafting interface. I just think people are looking for huge differences (built boats/ships can actually float and move around the map), which we will really not see. The mash-up packs may seem different, but are pretty much the same thing as like the Star Wars or Jurassic Park mods. I think people need to be happy with the awesome game that we have in our hands and quit asking for more, more, more, more.
Read the previous three pages to find out.

Really?
You were the worst offender.
