I was looking at 4j's twitter feed and noticed a reference to the amazon.co.uk listing for Minecraft Xbox 360 and I followed the link. Here is a picture from that amazon listing:
and here is a picture from 4J's twitter feed showing the new tutorial world:
It seems like the buildings in the background of the 2nd picture are the same buildings in first picture. Does anyone else think these are pics of the same world - the new tutorial world?
They look fairly similar, however you notice the "Minecraft" sign isn't in the first one. Also in the tutorial world one, look in the bottom left... you can see the land between the water and the buildings is a little smaller than the above picture... last you don't see the entrance way in the top one. It could be, but they changed it a bit.
Definitely not the same... similar yes. I mean the roofs of the buildings do not match. The top has spruce for roofing and the 4J one has oak... And like the other mentioned the terrain is slightly different, as well the flag and the many torches that are on the walls...
However it is still a good likeness...:D Both look pretty well done regardless.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
So its an old world that's going to be used as the tutorial world?
But how do they have jungle wood planks so long ago? Wouldn't they have just stuck them in creative if they've been in the coding for so long?

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.

The first picture is an old world, not the second picture. The first one is from before the game came out, and the second one is a picture they recently just took of the new tutorial world.
Seeing as how 4J are devs and have dev kits, they likely have the ability to copy and paste structures when making the game. They probably did that or they just rebuilt the castle again for the TU12 tutorial.
The more I look at these two pictures the more I am convinced that the castle in the background is exactly the same (minus the flag and minecraft sign, of course). The terrain around them has changed a bit (especially the addition of the jungle on the left. Here are some key points of reference that I see are identical.
I didn't circle the stone wall in the middle, but it is identical as well. I am convinced that the background buildings are identical in the two pictures. I think the structures I circled are the same and their relative positions are the same. I think they copied the structures using a dev kit, put it into the new terrain generation and added the foreground items to show off new features.
I also think none of this really matters, but it is interesting to discuss! (and I can't believe I just took the time to do this...)

Here is a review from May 09, 2012 using that first picture. It is a very old picture. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2012/may/09/minecraft-xbox-360-review
Regardless I didn't recognize the pic, as I came in some time at the end of summer beginning of fall that year. Plus that was a while back. hmm...

Dang it, world. ._.
Stay fluffy~
And the flag was taken away to give room for the giant minecraft sign.

no. you can not even do that on the pc version...And I am unsure if it is even feasible with the way the game is coded...
Although I do know a way they could possibly do that....><
Oh, I can think of a way of doing it in game right now, it just complicates things tremendously.
Well, darn, that's going to make constructing the Roble House (my next project) difficult.
