Hello, i am wondering on release of the TU12 will old worlds gain these updates as for will a jungle just appear in my old world or will this only apply to new worlds i create. I have spent way more time then i am willing to admint on my world. and this would kinda suck to start all over just to get the new updates. Concerned Miner
If you explored your whole world then no you will not get the jungles... BUT if you really like your old world and you want to continue playing in it just build your own jungle biome I know that what I'm going to be doing when they release the update

You can't do that without going into creative though, and he may not want to ruin is survival world.
Think of it this way - Is your current world any the less "ruined" by just abandoning it and deleting it than it would be by going into creative and building a jungle biome yourself?
the only way to get a Jungle in TU12 if you've already explored your world is to either make a new world or use Creative Mode. If you don't want to do either one, then you aren't getting jungles.
on the bright side, even if you do start a new world, at least you can use the non-terrain features that are coming in... Possibly might end up having a biome shift where jungle would be somewhere in the world of yours... The terrain will not change, for the exception of the grass color and biome thing, but you will still be able to use all those new aesthetic stuff like upside down stuff and auto arrange stairs... Villagers with zombie raids if you have a naturally generated village, as well if we are able to make our own with 2 villagers then you could relocate that too.
As for jungle terrain itself it is like everyone else has said, it is only a chance for unexplored terrain, so even then unlikely at times, but the biome shift I was talking about, which you may notice when the grass changes color or starts snowing where it wasn't before... Possibly a jungle biome (not the terrain) will be in your world to get ocelets... That is only chance as well though.:D
I for one have a few worlds I go back to doing this and that to. I have one primary one yes, but I may have a new primary one depending on what happens in the next update. Still will generate a new world just to have at least one map with jungle. Whether I start making that one a primary one or not all depends...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
LOL yes welcome to the Forum but if your looking for some kind of pity you'll not find it here man. Many are and have gone through these things and are hardened because of it. I like the many millions of others have had to remake new worlds with updates and have got pretty used to it even though it does suck.
one could always *cough* mod in items *cough* and keep your survival map out of creative while allowing you to give yourself jungle trees and stuff. just sayin......

What what what....???? I hope we don't get biome shift in tu12.... that can ruin a older world I remember last time they change the weather my deserts now have rain.... but on the other hand the world I was playing in didn't have snow so now I have snow
I have an idea that biome shift might not be a problem in TU12, I suspect that the new file format actually locks down the biomes and this may be accounted for when old saves are converted.
I think that is what happened with PC.
That is possible, but I believe also that the PC pre-ANVIL worlds had to go through a conversion process in order to be usable at all after ANVIL was implemented. I think we'll just have to wait to see what happens.
Biome shifts never really bothered me, whether that would still happen or not. that all depends on what they have this conversion do. After all the world will still have the same seed, unless that somehow gets skewed along the way... Still another possible error/bug that might arise. I am sure they would be careful about all that, however as ubergine mentions an old bug that was there due to a function done a bit off. I actually never had a problem with it. Then again I didn't really save the way some were doing it...O_o I actually had backups before I renamed anything anyway...
At least it was fixed eventually. Which might be the case for the conversion if it is needed or automatic upon load. Makes me wonder though, but still backup before it is released to ensure that I at least have a file that worked with the prior...:D
