Cant wait for the ocelots, I need some creeper protection!
<---- All the creeper protection you'll ever need. Cat's seem like a menace. Always jumping on your chests, furnaces and beds and stuff. I'll still most likely get one though. Just cause they'll be new and such.
I haven't heard anything about this iron farm stuff, could anybody give me a bit of info on it please or link me to something that will?
Basically, Iron Golems spawn in NPC Villages under certain circumstances. When killed, Iron Golems drop Iron. If you remove the Iron Golems by killing them, more will spawn to tatke their place to protect the NPC Villages.
Thus creating an infinite iron farm as long as Iron Golems can spawn.
Definitely getting me excited, however also making me stress about the height increase and whether they will expand out a few chunks to give us all a shot at having it in our current worlds...or if I need to start a new one...because I am really digging my legit one right now and would hate to have to creative in a jungle tree stash
I hope i'm not the only one who hopes that sideways logs will be pulled forward. I'd love that.
Nah man, you are not alone. I am hoping for those as well due to that fact they look nice in medieval or modern log cabins. Plus say you made a lumber yard, place a couple down to look like fallen trees and place cart tracks across as ropes. Love me aesthetics. lol
As odd as this may sound, I'm looking forward to see how it will affect old worlds. because if their adding iron golems, that means they are more likely than not adding villages with the whole door detection bit. I am really curious how it will affect the villages.
and I'm really hoping that they bring us up to 1.3 or so. we have a lot of features brought forward from it, so maybe?

It is more like adding or improving the villager AI... It would be mainly the villagers that would be affected, not the village itself. Well beyond being designated as one by the villagers, hence the iron golem spawning with a certain amount. Just be prepared for a biome shift, as jungles are coming in.
I really would like most stuff up to 1.3.2 as that was the one I liked most... Well we all can hope this and that gets added in.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
It is more like adding or improving the villager AI... It would be mainly the villagers that would be affected, not the village itself. Well beyond being designated as one by the villagers, hence the iron golem spawning with a certain amount. Just be prepared for a biome shift, as jungles are coming in.
I really would like most stuff up to 1.3.2 as that was the one I liked most... Well we all can hope this and that gets added in.
No, what i mean more is stuff like, all of our villagers are the "farmer" profession...will they randomly change, or remain farmers? Most of my villagers are in 2x1 holes in the desert (they kept killing themselves on the cacti...), decently far from the village. will the village still count, or what will they do?
trading, temples, and desert villages and trip wires, and maybe adventure mode are what i would hope for the most if the bring us up to 1.3.

Hmm... Professions would be something that would have to be brought forward I think... As I thought that came out sometime around the same time as trading. Of course if they do put trading in, then the professions would go along with that I would think.
As far as the old villagers spontaneously changing, that is anyones guess... There really is no way to tell, but my guess is no. Since those villagers are already generated. However if they decided to make it so when they breed we would get a random one from the profession list, then it could be possible for you to have the other ones as well on an old map. That would be the most logical thing I can think... Now I just hope breeding villagers is made a bit easier, like 1 door per villager instead of the 3 : 1 ratio that the pc has.
Doing the 1:1 ratio would make it definitely better for the younger audience to understand and be able to do it easily. One can only speculate or guess at what can be done, but what they actually do is another matter. That is one aspect we all will have to just wait and see..:D
