Didn't test the others still trying to fill a flat world with lava... but I'm too lazy.
But there's one problem with that. You can't place lava over the spawn points. If you try to do it, a message will pop up saying you can't, and the lava you placed will disappear.
Do villagers have their own separate limit or is their limit shared with other mobs?
The villager limit is separate and the new snow golem (utility mob) limit combined with the increase in villager limit will be awesome if we get Iron Golems.

True... but mobs can't spawn on transparent blocks (Ill use glass) so I'll still be able to test it all without the issue of mobs spawning on the actual world.

Check it out for awesome tutorials and constant content!
Also with what the OP mentioned. It is good to hear they doubled it, as that sounds like a better figure than what it was before. Acceptable in my opinion.:)
I guess that depends on, as you envision it, whether or not the wolves would be able to get at the sheep and/or whether you think the sheep would be more distressed at the prospect of being eaten by wolves than the wolves would be frustrated at not being able to get at the sheep in order to eat them.
I haven't really used the item frames much at all yet but have started putting maps and clocks around the place, really love the maps in frames.
It's also handy to have spare maps in frames at your spawn area so that if someone dies they can grab it and have a better chance of finding their way back to their stuff in time.
I agree, it's handy to provide spare maps at spawn. It's not necessary to put them in a frame though, an emergency supply chest works fine. Mine usually also contains a spare sword or two and maybe a few torches and some dirt (for quickly repairing the creeper hole and/or being able to jack myself out of a hole/cave if necessary).
Yay! Now we can make better and bigger Snow Golem armies/defense systems, and we should never hit the limit for Items Frames and Paintings, and as for Villagers, our humongous cities can be fully occupied!

You would be surprised how many people would hit that limit... Paintings work good in decorating, and item frames are really good at decorating & labeling storage...lol
But it is a fair amount at least...:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
It's funny how it's only 400 paintings/item frames. Before Item frames there wasn't a limit on paintings. I know this because in my friend shaky's world we put up at least 1,500 paintings. He has over 400 in his castle alone lol
and Snow Golems from 8 to now 16.
For anyone that cares.....

The increase will still be in effect for if we ever do get villager trading

Two words: Monster bombs.

That and preparation for Monster Raids, if that is added in too.
