Why does it take forever to grow grass on a dirt block in minecraft windows 10 edition?
even if I stand next to a dirt block surrounded with grass block it takes about 8-25 minutes for it to become a grass block.
however, on the java version it only takes about 30 seconds.
yeah. that's how it is in PE/WIN10. I don't really mind it being that long to grow since I can enchant fortune shovel to fill some grass or leave it to grow when and just do other stuffs. I think random tick happens less often compared the java version reason why it takes longer to update. This is for game optimization on mobile devices.
yeah, it sucks to be that way. but I understand if it's for optimization, didn't think grass growth would matter that much on performance though.
its not that. Its the code that's running in a loop that affects performance. More loops more computation and more computation means less frame rate. I may be wrong though since they never state add much information in the wiki about PE and WIN10 tick. Hard to tell since random tick happens every 0.05 second and this may hog performance depending on the task.

OR
Maybe that's the way the developers think it should be.
Maybe the java version grows grass too fast.
No one ever said that Win10 and the java version should be exactly alike- people just assume they should be.
I'm not saying one is right and the other is wrong- I'm just saying they're "different".
