I really miss java mc and I know that a LOT of other players do too. Youtubers in fact MILLONS of youtubers don't update to windows 10 Minecraft editon because it won't have the original java mc features. This thread is not to say '' Oh I should take down Windows 10 Minecraft and replace it with Java MC'' NOOO!!! That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that Minecraft Windows 10 edition doesn't have the cherry on top from Minecraft Java Version.
Some of the reasons why I think Minecraft Java Version really hits off Windows 10 Edition Minecraft is because Java MC has mods. On mcpe you can do mods but on win10mc you can't because the files are case sensitive which really sucks. Also many ppl agree with this and you know what its true.
Another thing is command blocks. I liked the new update with commands in mc but still I need command blocks I miss em and you can do amazing things in command blocks not only can you just do commands but there really helpful in mc maps and that's why command blocks are very important command blocks really make the sandbox game a lot more fun and its really fun to mess around with command blocks. Also there's just one more thing that I'll love if they added this to Win10Mc and its if all of those things on that list happens I would be so happy I hope this becomes a future update to winmc because I really miss Java version mc!
* You're thinking backwards. Java MC is missing some very important features that Win10 has- such as multi-platform, controller support, being able to play with another edition, etc.
* I don't want "the original java mc features". Been there, done that! Give me something new, fresher, better than the same ole thing. If I wanted the "original java mc features", I'd play the java version.
* Can the average smartphone (or even a tablet) handle the "full" MC?
* What's the point of Mojang's new game being "just like" one that's been out for 6 years?
* I think people don't want java MC. I think what they do (think) they want is to have all the unique features of Win10 and have all the features of java MC. In other words, I think they want it all! Then they can finally ditch that cranky ole java version for good.
* Win10 has something better than mods- it has add-ons. And there's a new version of add-on's coming (yes, original add-ons will auto-update to the new kind, you won't have to do anything.) http://pocketbeta.minecraft.net/search?updated-min=2017-01-01T00:00:00+01:00&updated-max=2018-01-01T00:00:00+01:00&max-results=2 Just guessing here, but I don't think we've seen the last of the updates to add-ons. They may make them even easier to create and more powerful.
Add-ons have 2 huge advantages over "mods":
1- They are not version specific. All add-ons will work all the time, even if the game is updated. You no longer have to play old versions of the game (missing out on new features and bug fixes) just to use your favorite mod(s).
2- Add-ons are much easier to create than a mod. In fact, you can do it yourself. You don't have to depend on modders to do one for you, or for them to "update" their mod.
Oh, and add-ons are a free download, just like mods are.
I think "mods" are the "old" way of doing things- now there's better ways.
* I'm sure command blocks are coming. They're a much requested feature on the Win10/PE Feedback site. I'm sure some of the more popular features of java MC will make it to Win10/PE... but I don't see all the features coming. Me, I'd much rather have better, different features!
The Bottom Line for me is, the java version is "mature" (after 6 years), but Win10 is still just a kid. It will do a lot more growing up in the next year or two. It's kinda pointless to try and compare the two at this time. Patience. You might be surprised....
