Choosing the Classic world map size on the PS4 should allow you to transfer the classic sized world over to the PS Vita version and back to the PS4 again with no problems. Just make it so it can't be enlarge on the PS4 , or , if you are able to, only then it would lose the compatibility to move it from PS Vita to PS4 and back again.
I Hope this becomes a feature in the future.
