We really have to carry a ton of maps in our inventory to find our way around the world? Kind of messy, and we'd have no inventory space for anything else but maps. XD
Can we just have one zoomable map or something? Or a craftable bigger map with more paper, or something like that? Pretty much have to play on small/classic worlds unt
ill this is fixed, or avoid the map border like there is a plague on the outside of it. XD Thanks.
Maybe after completely filling in 9 maps, let us craft them into a book that works like a book for page turning, but otherwise works like a map? That could be cool, although it still wouldn't cover the whole world.
If you've made different maps for different areas you can craft an atlas (needs at least two different maps) and maps switch automatically every time you enter a new area. the duplicate maps would remain separated as they can't be added. you can continue to add new maps to your atlas 'stack of maps' later on.
Example: You have ten different maps for ten different areas in the world, the maps appear in one stack and automatically displays the correct map for the area you're in. You can add new maps for new areas to the atlas in the future. a duplicate map could not be added so you'd set it aside or craft a second atlas. Want your maps all separate? Don't craft an atlas or reverse craft an existing one.
Example 2: You've entered an area you haven't yet made a map for, your atlas will display the last map you've used before entering a new area along with a dot at the very edge pointing toward where you've crossed and currently are.
What the PS4 version needs so it's on par with the PC version is the ability to create a larger map from the one you already have. On the PC, all you have to do to zoom out on your map is craft a larger map with eight paper and your map.

EG:
1. go to the edge of your current map and keep walking untill your a good way in.
2. Craft a new map and it will show the new area that you are in.
