So I created a Mob farm on my creative world that uses dispensers with one water bucket each to push mobs out of the spawning area to their deaths. But for whatever reason there seems to be water blocks that do not go away once the dispenser picks it up. It then causes the water to eventually go over the edge which then gives the mobs a friendly waterfall ride down. Not sure if dispensers are not working right or if water source blocks are not de spawning for whatever reason. Not sure how to fix the problem.
It's the exact same farm that mumbo guy made, for reference.
Water has weird properties of physics in and of itself. Without seeing what is up, hard to say. I can tell you my one dispenser that used a water bucket does just fine since the last update. And, I believe Mumbo Jumbo is on PC, which actually shouldn't make a difference, but you never know.. If you'd like to have a witness I would be more than happy to look at it, and if we can't figure it out together then I'd say try a new design. Or, if you think a picture would help explain, post one up. My PSN is thewdotcom 😉
Did you build it, and it worked, and now it doesn't? Or did it not work from the beginning?

You don't need to know all the answers, you just need to know where to find them.
I've also built the same farm in my survival world. After going inside the actual farm to have a look, it was clear that water source blocks completely filled the spawning platforms. People have been saying that a simple increase in timing in the hopper clock would fix this, however this is not the case. My best educated guess point towards a glitch involving dispensers dispensing water and duplicating the source blocks when you are not in the chunks. My testing shows that 30+ minutes of staying near the mob farm will not cause any source block duplication. Rather, duplication occurs when the player leaves the chunks for extended periods of time. I'd suggest to anyone considering using this farm to wait until a patch comes out until building or activating the hopper timer.

One update later , still no fix. (Not complaining or anything , just a fun fact)
If I can help , random source blocks are created when the main source block is removed. This has nothing to do with dipensers , it just seems like a bug with water update , when the flowing water is going away , it tends sometimes to place a source block (or multiple ones) instead of removing the block of flowing water , like if blocks of flowing water are merging together into a source block. Even if not directly caused by lag (since it can happen with only a single water bucket) , lag seems to make the bug happen more often.

Unfortunately the fix for this caused a lot of knock on effects and had to be removed.
We know the cause of the issue however and will be looking for a suitable fix.
