wrong you can buy redstone from the purple guys forgot there class i think it was pope im not sure he sells the redstone powder you use to make redstone trails for circuits
I meant Redstone machinery in general, (Repeaters, pistons, sticky pistons, hoppers, droppers, dispensers, Redstone torches, ect).
wrong again the link i posted before in your other topic does work but they have a long spawn time i think it was 1 every 5 mins im not sure but if you leave it running and dont go to far itll do its job if you go to far from it i think the distance was 20 blocks away then they stop working im not sure
do the pics on the site for a easy to use 1 it does work you just need to give it time there like plants they dont instantly grow you could make the cups larger and have more villagers in without water that would get them breeding and produce more golems 5 in each cup is a slow farm for those who dont want to waste land on farms like that
You need to have 16 villagers in order for a Iron Golem to spawn. In my survival world I only have one village, thanks for the help though.
I would make a different survival world but I don't wanna leave behind the castle I've been building
2 golem farms on my ps3 survival map, they are about 120 blocks apart. It seems to me that if you can see your farms then they will produce. I would hazard a guess of 200 blocks away that they still produce.
I used a canal to transfer villagers to the 2nd farm once I had finished it.

I get about 30 ingots an hour.
I just finished an iron golem farm 2 days ago, from it I get about 30-40 ingots/hour no matter where I am on my map. I have it in the SW corner of my map, and was in the NE corner hollowing out an underground slime farm about 250 blocks away. When I went to check on my golem farm I had an additional 50 ingots (it was under 2 hours later).
They're great! No more crappy cobblestone axes, its high efficiency iron all the way, I cut through trees like butter now!
@ MCVET,
I used the golem farm which NIMS does on youtube, it is quick and easy to set-up, most of your time is spent getting the dumb villagers into their chamber. For that I used a rail system and minecarts to ferry them from my village to the farm (100 blocks away). You only need 2 and then they'll breed the rest. But it took awhile to find the rails (luckily enough in the past week I had found 154 rail tracks in 2 separate abandon mineshafts.
There are many things which you cannot buy from Villagers, for one you cannot buy building materials, or redstone.
It would be nice for them to add a Redstone Engeneer Villager, and a Carpenter.
This would add many more functions to the game and allow for infinite blocks.

Iron golem farms do not work on Ps3, iron golems don't naturally spawn

That's good, I recently saw a tutorial on how to make one, it will take some time.
