Piture it: being able to take bits and bobs of the texture packs you've purchased and putting together the parts you want together through a simple interface, and saving them in name-able "Favorite Textures" slots that appear alongside your texture options before loading a map! I picture the setup being as such:
Seperate catagories for Block, Object, Painting, Mob, and Villager customiziation, aligned in a grid, with their default textures showing first off.
Click on a block, object, painting, mob, or villager to bring up a a descending list of available textures for that particular block, object, painting, mob, or villager you have purchased, with ones you haven't purchased yet blacked out and unusable. Choose the texture you want, the list goes away and the thing you customized changes to that texture on the interface.
Ability to save your personal texture choices to 1 of 3 or 5 "Favorite Textures" slots. If money is an issue, have 2 Favorite Slots available off the bat, with 3 more available for purchase off of PSN for the same price as a texture pack.
Ability to share your Favorites with friends. If the person hasn't purchased some of the texture packs used in the Favorite, the game will inform the user and revert those textures to Default Minecraft until the user goes into the interface and changes them to textures they HAVE purchased.
The interface itself would be an option to pick from on the title screen, either above or below "Minecraft Store" and would be set up like your inventory (being able to move the cursor around like a mouse pointer with the left stick or be D-pad). It would give people some more freedom when it comes to what they want to see when they're playing in their worlds. 4J Studios would likely see some increased income, as more people would be getting texture packs to fine tune their favorite slots, as well as making money off of selling additional favotie slots (which would be a template of sorts for the inerface, with the Default Minecraft textures set until a user customizes it in the Interface). In essence, everyone wins.
