What if you were able to get quests from villagers. Like, some villagers will have a "!" on the top of there head and they'll tell you what they need and when you come back with what they need, they give you a award!
And if for some reason you don't want to receive quests, theres a option to turn off quests!

Maybe the priest gives out a quest or something. I talked about this idea a while ago. Minecraft can seem so opened ended. But the open ending is the point, players create their own stories.
I assume something like gathering certain amounts of resources within a certain time limit might make a unique challenge for some kind of reward.. but leads to the same question we all wonder from time to time about the villagers. What do villagers do with all the emeralds anyway?

LOL This is just a theory mind you, but I think there are female villagers. They live is secret and make the males take care of the children. Male villagers can only visit the women if they have enough emeralds. I imagine female villagers as large Amazons with alot green tinted bling. Just a theory people.
Yeah, I sometimes think the zombie's are actually crazed female villagers.
To explain:
There once were regular happy villagers.. until the day they ate Rotten Flesh.
Now seek male villagers to eat their emeralds.
Which explains their green skin and always wanting to gold dig all the emeralds!
Minecraft simply allows you to heal their urge to steal by knocking some sense into that villlager with a Potion of Weakness
Now you just bribe them with a Golden Apple.
Nah, villagers are like the rich. They are the rulers of the economy in minecraft and look down on us players with their long noses, thats why they have crappy trades. They store their emeralds in their vaults and keep them there, occasionally getting them out to count them and sometimes giving them to their children as toys. Or, maybe they just have enough to swim in them.. either way they're rich xD
So what your saying "Don't feel guilty for raiding villagers fields, blacksmith's chest, or local bookshelves."? I am cool with that idea. SCREW THE MAN!!!! lmao
I don't think Quests should be added to a sandbox game. This game is about opening your imagination, not following a path set for you. Trades were alright and I feel like they are quests enough. "Retreive 4 wheat and I'll give ou an emerald for the effort."
fetch quests could make it interesting.......especially if you are working on a build and want to take a little break from that....or if you just spent the last hour mining underground....a nice welcome diversion.
i would make the quests rare and the reward not too corny and not too fancy....somewhere in the middle
