I wouldn't mind. Since everything has a number anyway... Such as if you look at the Minecraft Wiki... all the swords, etc has a number for damage etc and I'm wondering "how'd you come to that conclusion?" since it's never really said.
All we have to go by is that one is wood, one is iron, one is gold, and one is diamond.
I suppose.. you could find that out if you hit a player with one.. but other than that.. how would you know?
Just have a small number that flies off the thing you hit... RPG style like Final Fantasy
