Before you accuse me of not port-forwarding, I have. And, before you accuse me of using my internal IP, I gave my friend the external IP.
My friend can connect fine. However, when I try to join it says "can't resolve hostname." I am trying to play on the server computer itself; I know this is not recommended, but it is a powerful PC and only needs to host 2 people. So, why can my friend connect, but I can't connect even though I am local..
Your friend should be using the external IP, but you should be using the internal IP if it's the same machine. Also, if you are playing on the same PC anyway, why not use the new LAN feature?

Click it or it will die...A cold painful death.
