So last night i downloaded minecraft to play with some friends. Worst decision of my life. I downloaded the game around 9 o clock last night expecting it to be done around 9:30, i come back only to see that the download bar hasn't moved an inch.Through frustration i was ready to give minecraft a relaxed call so i can get the game working on my computer. Turns out there is not a phone number to contact. Well alright,I understand its not a major company and in many ways that's a good thing, you know, maybe they care about there customers. But my efforts to find a solution have been thwarted. There seems to be no organization in solving problems other then this forum. Which with all the trolls now a days I'm terrified to ask a question here but here it goes. For some reason when i click YES to download the new update packets it sits at around 5% and never moves. To be honest im not totally sure ive even downloaded the right thing i just know that i can acess the minecraft launcher and it asks me to download updates, like patches i guess and it just wont download. What do i need to be downloaded to play the game and not throw 21 dollars down the drain? Please dont be a grammar nazi and just answer the question
wow. Sorry for what I'm about to say. Your internet must suck if its that slow. It takes me under a minute to download on force update. Unless your using something like a cracked client.

Yeah but w/ cracked client you download a crack launcher, so if that takes forever, imagine real minceaft
Maybe try to reset the modem, turn on and off your wireless/ pull out Ethernet cable and see what goes form there. If it doesn't really work then I don't know what you could do from there. Maybe download it from your friends house?
First, this isn't Minecraft's problem, it's yours. My download takes me about 10 seconds for each update, no matter what. So obviously, this lies within your Internet speed. You should try resetting your modem and router, rebooting your computer, and resetting your wireless card/ethernet cable.
I guarantee that's what he is using.
