Hello,
Recently I have just gotten back into minecraft. Before I had no problems opening and running minecraft. However, now, months later, it takes ages for minecraft to open (10 minutes, maybe more). Yesterday I somehow managed to have it open immediately, and I have no problem running the game itself. Does anyone know a solution to this? It is incredibly frustrating since I used to have 0 problems.
Depends how Many worlds do you have and How much space do you have left is its low its because you have to much Crap delete a world or Make a backup save then do it
Check your hosts file. I am guessing that the launcher is trying to connect to minecraft.net but an entry in the hosts file is preventing this. The hosts file can be found here:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
Just edit it with notepad. Remove any entry for minecraft.net
Just did a fresh reinstall of java just to make sure. Nothing.
EDIT:
Actually, with some fooling around after reinstalling (things like clearing my web cache) it is now working perfectly. Odd, but ok. Thanks for the help anyways!

The launcher. For example, I click open on the exe, I see the process running in my task manager, but no minecraft.
I checked, but nope. No entry
