I have no idea why I am seeing this, I can still do everything but I have to guess at what I am doing.
Is there a fix for this?
Assuming you're not using a texture pack, i'm going to take a shot in the dark by saying your biome shading is screwed up. It looks like something that could be fixed by backing up your worlds and re-installing.

Log out and log back in to the game or try starting a new map, if that does not work delete the mine craft files on your PC then go log back into the game and your PC will re-download the game.
TO get to the mine craft files click start and find " run " then type in %appdata% and click OK, then in the window that pops up find the mine craft folder and delete it.
I tried to log in to minecraft to play online but when im in the browser it says "error occured (2): access denied (java.util.PropertyPermision user.home" and when i play it from my mac desktop it say logging in for a long time and then says it cannot connect to minecraft.net. how do i fix this because i really want to play online again.

only things I can think of to try are: installing a different (not default) texture pack, or trying the game from the browser. see if anything is different.

I have the latest Java too, and my graphics card(s) say they are up to date. I don't see why this wont work.
