First off my mods do not work and I am doing exactly what tutorials do, even the more recent tutorials on how to install mods. Step by step I do it but when I open minecraft then it gives me something that says minecraft has crashed and closes on its own. Which brings me to another problem, when I try to find a solution or a different and easier way to install mods than manually installing them I came across mod manager. The first mod manager I found was from TomFromCollege, but his download link doesn't work so I had to find another one. I came across another one by RobRendell and I downloaded the file. I extracted the files to my desktop and tried to open mmm.jar. It didn't work, all I get is an error sound the deep beep sound. No error thing comes up though, only the sound. So that doesn't work either I guess? I'm not sure if it's due to a Java error I don't see how it is because my Java is up to date and properly working. So I'm kinda pissed off knowing that mods work for everyone else in the world but me. Step by steps don't for me even when I do follow them properly. Any suggestions or help? Any mod pros out there want to help me? :/
If you receive an error report when minecraft crashes post that here and we'll be able to help you alot more, now,
1) Have you checked that the mods your trying to install are compatible with each other?
2) When you tried manually installing the mods did you remember to delete the META-INF folder?
3) Have you tried installing ONE MOD, testing it, and carrying on in that fashion?
4) Have you tried using a fresh minecraft.jar (deleting your .minecraft folder (AFTER BACKING UP YOUR SAVES) then re-downloading it?
5) Are the mods your trying to install compatible with the latest version of minecraft?
6) I know this sounds patronising but are you really REALLY sure you followed it exactly to the letter only placing the specified files into the minecraft.jar?
I'm sure, if you'd like to Team View me then that'd help too. I can try to get the error message but the minecraft app. closes right away.
As of right now I'm working on getting simple mods added such as
Pokeball Mod and Ultimate fist mod. So far I've added all the files into minecraft.jar successfully while deleting the META-INF folder and put the gui folder in as well. (Ultimate Fist Mod) It doesn't work, the crafting didn't come up with the fist. I didn't add the Mod Loader because that's where my minecraft happens to crash. Whenever I put the correct files into the Minecraft.jar folder minecraft closes
I'm just checking over fist mod now for you, it's very likely it's unfortunately incompatible with the pokéball mod.
I'll get back to you with what i find but if your looking for a replacement for the ultimate fist mod i'd like to reccomend Single Player Commands if it's out and compatible for 1.6.6 ~ you can acheive the same affect and alot more to enhance the general experience of miencraft with it ;D
Yea haha I'm downloading Too Many Items right now, the thing about the ultimate fist is there is a folder in the download labeled 'gui' so I'm not sure if I replace the folder labeled 'gui' in the bin folder with it or just drag the files into it. in the 'gui' folder download it contains two things. ultimate_fist.png and Thumbs.db I'm not sure what to do with the Thumbs.db file
