Never mind, I figured that out. Set online to false, but I still can't destroy a block. When connecting to friends, it just gives me a socket reset error or time out over and over.
You paid good money to do that testing on a Beta product! So have at it!! [Hey, someone will say it so figured I'd get it out of the way]. I CANNOT wait until this games gets out of Beta and that flag never gets flown again . . .
Read the thread, thankyouverymuch. Your point has been made and refuted numerous times. We can't beta-test a product if it's so laggy that it's unplayable.
I do look forward to testing this work-around solution :smile.gif:

A kiss on the hand may be quite continental, but diamonds are a girl's best friend.
So far on my accounts of -TRYING- to access online servers, I can access anything my computer sees as local. So anything like a Hamachi Server, it acts like an instant messenger and it works nearly instantly (sometimes there's periods of lag where it takes 5 minutes for an area to re-load, but that's due to my friend's server), however if I go to something a bit more public, like the Yogscast server for example (Yeah, it's full 99% of the time, but I'm using it as an example... I don't know of any other popular ones), I -MIGHT- be able to get onto it.
However whenever I go onto a public server like that, I have a 95% chance of loading nothing (this who problem that everyone's getting X.X) Or I may get lucky with a 5% chance of having the server... ACTUALLY LOAD SOMETHING. However, if that ever happens, I've got a tiny little island at the spawn-point, and I can't go anywhere. Eventually, the server will time me out and disconnect me.
Can't say that it's my internet connection, because I play multiplayer games rather easily, heck, every game I've tried with online action, I was able to get it without lag (WoW? Yeah, my computer ran it with NO problems what-so-ever, and that's a more CPU, Memory, and Graphic intensive game than Minecraft... And no I don't play it anymore >.>). Not to mention that on a Hamachi server, I don't get any lag (unless my friend's server is lagging... And we can tell because he begins to lag too).
I haven't tested my theories with my macbook (MUCH older, has a hard time running simple flash games... But also I have a lot of crap on it too lol), but from what I've seen and gathered, it's been all windows operating systems, it doesn't depend on graphics cards or CPUs, and my internet connection isn't the source of the problem at all (Ethernet, no wireless dropping, and DSL). I've tried all of the possible work-arounds, I've EVEN tried giving Minecraft more Memory (AboveNormal, as High and Realtime begins to give problems elsewhere), and still come up with the same problems (actually I want to test the memory theory again). ---Of which, gives me that 5% chance of loading a patial spot in the server.
So yeah, Case #1006829, same problems and everything... I'm still looking for a work-around too because I want multiplayer action Man... I'm jonesing for dagun multiplayer! @.@ (Like a crack addict lmao, jk)

I don't make skins anymore because I'm going to be working. I'll do private ones here and there, but basically won't be making them for the public anymore.
Read the whole thing. The problem is old but the solution is new.
This has been a horrendous problem on my server. I'll hopefully be able to confirm this workaround later today.
Thoroughly tested with my server. The program works perfectly but doesn't affect the problem for me whatsoever. There is still insane lag for those with fast connections that live close to my own, while people far away with slower connections can play lag-free.

Dude, that work-around works for me :biggrin.gif:
1) Download Jar file
2) Put it somewhere you'll remember it, doesn't matter where
3) Put in server name without port
4) If it has a special port number type it in, otherwise it's 25565
5) Start the proxy
6) Go into Multiplayer and type "localhost"
7) EPIC AWESOME RESULTS!
---It worked :biggrin.gif: YAY! XD---

I tried doing all that with the proxy thing. It didn't even work a little bit. I still have the same problem. This is ********. If I pay for a game, I should be able to play it.
