I just updated my MC, because it was out of date. So, I go to the multiplayer tab and enter the IP of my favorite server... the spawn zone appears for perhaps 4 seconds, with 1 FPS the whole time, then it kicks me out with this error:
"Connection lost
Internal exception: java.io.EOFException"
googling this did not help, so I came here.
Single player still works fine, however. Other people were on the server, so the server isn't down or whatever.

If a creeper walked in to my house, I'd either be cowering in a corner or unzipping my trousers.
open up the java control panel, keep it open, try connecting to the server again, n see wot it says on the control panel, might give us some more details
I found it with Search, opened it, followed the instructions and it didn't say anything... I went to all the tabs, nothing I can see that would enable me to open anything where it would tell me information.
Are we on the same page?
Should I open the cmd prompt while I'm running this java control panel?
More helpful info that I really should have included in the OP:
I am using win7 home premium (64-bit)
I can't see what computer specs have to do with it, but I'll include them as well:
6GB DDR2
2.6ghz Phenom II quad-core
512mb ATI Radeon 5450

Hey cardgame.
I'm getting the same error (I play on Realmz as well). I thought it might be the server, too - the last things I heard shortly before disconnecting and getting this error were effectively "Nyte's forest caught on fire."
Though, I haven't seen any announcements about server issues, and it's been a while since then.
