I have a server up and I know I cant play on it with the same computer thats hosting it so I have a second computer I use to play on it. But for some reason I simply can't connect to it! All of my friends can connect to it and play on it just fine but when I try it says the server is down.
And yes, it is the correct URL, I checked three times.
Can someone help me? It's the only server I play on so basically I payed for a game I can't really play.
And it seems in opera the Minecraft game won't even load. even though I have Java enabled.
Don't use hacks, period.
Also did get a black screen? You should wait for it to load though.
Sorry, but I can't play without hacks. I don't care what whiny victim of a griefer has to say. They're extremely useful and disabling them does not help in the slightest bit.
And no, with Opera just nothing at all shows up. A look at the Preferences says it's not enabled for whatever reason. Firefox has the game come up but it says it can't connect to the server as does the WoM client.

Note: I only use the client because it gives me better FPS, and i don't want FF eating up everything.
We've had this problem before, you have to use the links provided. Either that or open the ports on your router, most of the time you have to open the port on your router of the one in server.properties. Otherwise no one would connect, but yours is strange. Make sure nothing is blocking yourself from going on, like a firewall.

http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?serve ... port=25565
if that url doesn't work while your running minecraft then I'm not quite sure whats wrong
if not go here viewtopic.php?id=1815
(EDIT: I don't think that works actually >.< can't delete post)
You may have
A. A router
B. A firewall
C. A antivirus/spyware thats blocking it.

It may be my router so how do I fix it?

I thought you only had to forward ports for the server. Why would the client need to forward ports?

If all else fails, change the port and try again.

Yeah I've done that a few times and it seems to install just fine but when I use the thing on their website to see if it's installed it says it isn't.
I support this.

Damn, thanks I got it from here.
if you're connecting from the same computer.
if you're connecting from a different computer on the same network use this
this is assuming your port is set to 25565, if not change the port number accordingly.
Protip: The external URL is just that. It will only work if your computer is on an external network.
