Version: Bukkit 1.6.4 due to me and a couple of my players not updating yet. (we all have client side mods that haven't updated yet for some reason)
Though a few are currently disabled: RoyalAuth for one.
There is about 5 worlds in use with maybe 3 of them in use at once. Though we have been keeping it to one world as we have been doing a group project.
This is being hosted outside, by a host as my internet connection isn't fast enough for hosting. I just don't want to pay for more than I need, but I also don't want to go under what I need and end up crashing the server. I wish to keep a balance and even potentially have a little room for expansion. Maybe an extra 5 players worth for now. So support for upto a total of 20 players at once.
Thanks for the help!
Note: I already have a server, but it is setup with 4GB of ram. I just wanted to know if I could cut the ram amount down a bit to help with the bills. If I really need to I will just not pay and cancel it, but I don't want to do that so I am trying to figure out alternatives.
Okay. So, yeah, how much RAMs does your computer hold?
I don't know, it's being hosted by a company. Why does how much ram does it hold matter? It's a server being done by a company.
I just want to make sure I'm not paying the hosting company for more than what I need. If it helps to lower my bills then great. But I don't want to lower it if it will affect the user experience negatively.
If your wanting to know my personal computers Ram amounts:
I have a laptop that can support upto 32GB Ram, but has 16GB installed
A desktop that supports upto 32GB Ram but has 8GB installed.
Both these machines though are only running the game, and NOT a server, the server is being hosted on a payed hosting site.
Hopefully that clears things up?
As to the others, thanks it looks like 2GB may be the sweet spot for supporting my server for the foreseeable future.
