OVH has a whole new design ... and a setup fee. Anyone think that this is stupid? I went ahead and looked, and some setup fees are more expensive than the servers themselves! Looks like newer hosts won't be popping up so often...

I think they're making a good choice and stepping up their game. With the setup fee it'll push away people who just want a server for a month then leave, which is bad for a datacenter business in my opinion. Plus if they offer, soon to be, guaranteed 480Gbit DDOS protection the setup fee would be worth it regardless. I don't see any E3 servers being sold on their website anymore also, only E5 and Opterons.
In my opinion it's a smart choice on their part. Remember OVH also has many other brand names that still offer cheap servers.

Well, I have never understood why companies set unrealistic setup fees, but I guess they have a reason from what I have heard they are providing with good services.
I think so they only get customers that are seriously going to stick with them. Since you have to be with them for the setup fee to "pay off".
In other news: 30 $2/GB Minecraft Hosting companies have shut down as they cannot afford new OVH setup fees.
In all seriousness, an extra $100 isn't a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. I would rather pay a $100 setup fee if the host is going to be reliable, hopefully this will help OVH gain a better reputation.

So...
www.soyoustart.com and www.kimsufi.com are being forgotten here? That's where they sell all of their lower-grade servers.
