Beastnode has been around for a very long time and was the first host I've ever used. In my opinion, they're very good and have some of the best support I've ever seen. You might be running too many plugins for the power of the server that you purchased.
I used Beastnode when it was formerly known as GSVerse. The servers were completely reliable and fast, additionally the support was remarkable. support (to me atleast) is the most important aspect of any host. Whether it may be a game server or anything else, you always need a dedicated support team. This is since hosting is riddled with all sorts of phenomenon that requires support, Beastnode tops this off. The response time was typically no longer than 20 minutes; unfortunately due to the high retention they're getting now, the response time has gotten noticeably longer.
To answer your question, yes they're a great host. You're probably overloading the server with plugins

I'm only using like 35 plugins, is that really a lot?
It depends on what you're using probably, I can run 36 plugins at this time with little to no lag using their 1024MB RAM plan. Nonetheless, I have found Beastnode to be a very, very reliable and I have had two servers with them at different times since late 2012.
The network that I am plugin manager of (close friend of the owner) have purchased all their servers from beastnode. We have no lag and we run 50+ plugins on our faction server.
I recommend getting the plugin ClearLagg.

I definitely recommend BeastNode, it is by far the best server hosting company around. I would even rate it over MCProHosting! BeastNode have great, friendly and approachable staff who are always willing to help you out even if you're not a customer of there's. One of my favourite things about BeastNode is their Live Chat support which is available for anyone to use. It allows you to quickly and efficiently contact a BeastNode staff member.
