From the title, you probably think that I want Minecraft 2.0 to become official. (If you don't know what it is, it was an April Fools joke. Here is a page describing it.) This is not the case.
Recently, I have seen some similarities between The 2.0 fake update and other recent updates. For instance, coal blocks and tinted glass have actually been added, while originally being part of 2.0. Similarly, fishing was changed in 2.0; new fish were added, and fishing was removed. The first part did actually happen, while the second is sort of true; fishing was revamped a little. Also, in 2.0, chickens became neutral mobs that could attack and spawn reinforcements. These features are very similar to chicken jockeys (baby zombies riding chickens) and the new zombie reinforcement mechanics. Another addition in 2.0 was Super HD graphics, which turned all textures to monochrome, similarly to the Super Secret Settings. There were also "horses" which were actually just reskinned cows and pigs. However, they have been added since then. There may be more ideas that were actually implemented, but I can't think of anymore right now.
From this information, can we predict any other future updates? Do any of the other parts of 2.0 have a chance at being added to the game?
If a joke makes enough predictions, it's bound to get something right somewhere along the line with enough time. Don't take it seriously or count on a joke as anything other than that. It's only an indicator of anything in hindsight, as it was a reflection of popular things in the community.

On topic though, 2.0 was a mixture of commonly suggested things, a few jokes (Redstone bugs, as Redstone has quite a few glitches), and generally ridiculous things. Some were bound to show up eventually, and they probably read from different places the features users actually liked.

Like Endercreeper168 said, Many of the things from the Joke update where highly requested by the community.
I've noticed after the Joke update ended, many people where nearly begging for the tainted glass to be added into Vanilla.
It has been brought up before that Minecraft 2.0 may have been them testing out things, such as horses and glass and the like. If not in a practical sense for the game, in respect to the community. Having said that, I think that most things from 2.0 that can be implemented, have been. (Though didn't someone say animals are going to change somehow...?)
Back in alpha Notch wanted to make torches burn out (but relightable with flint&steel) and have another item (Lanterns) that would not burn out but be more difficult to craft. It never happened but at the time a large amount of the community wanted this feature.

I would support just about anything that got added into Minecraft-it's addicting enough as is. The April Fool's updates are always interesting to play as well-and sometimes it is interesting to note how some of the items/blocks do get added, even if it was a coincidence.
The only things I'd say are directly inspired by Minecraft 2.0 is tinted glass and coal blocks. The initial texture for coal blocks when it was added in 1.6 snapshots was identical to the texture for it in Minecraft 2.0 (a recolor of redstone blocks), and I'm pretty sure the same is true for tinted glass.
Everything else is probably mostly coincidental. Maybe horses were inspired by the joke horses, too.
Speaking of April Fools, I hope this year they do another big (public) fake update, full of the worst popular suggestions to show people why they are bad suggestions.
"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."
I'm suprised! Nobody mentioned super-hostile mode?!? That would be absolute chaos. Seriously, I think the 2.0 features that have already been added are great. Everything else sucks.
Well, I dont think one of these are on the list of yours:
Redstone bugs
Exploding Animals
Agressive chickens
Love wither
TNT anvils
burnout torches
diamond chicken
floating animals

Very true. For example:
