Does anyone else think jeb is taking Minecraft in the right direction with all these new updates? I mean Nametags in Minecraft? Really? I could see horses in Minecraft and the wither was a good idea. but Minecraft is getting to be a bit too weird with all this. If you ask me, I think notch should go back to working on Minecraft.
The horse are neat, but they're putting too much effort into one feature. I wish they put in this much effort for the Wither and Ender dragon; they are, after all, bosses. They should be far more complex than a mob you can ride.

Nametags in Minecraft? Oh lordy lordy, Jeb's gone off the deep end! How the hell are we supposed to play the game now with the devil's dungeon loot destroying our play experience in non-noticable ways?!

Notch and jeb are too different people with two different mindsets. Of course the way they both think are different, and no point talking about this, Notch already gave the future of Minecraft to Jeb, so mind as well look forward to what Jeb would implement
So instead of someone who actually works features out and finishes them completely, you want the dev that sporadically jumps from idea to idea and doesn't even do half the work on any of them? Besides, Notch quit making Minecraft a while ago and Jeb has done a great job.

I don't even see how that works. That isn't even the correct term for the way you are using it!
These features are improving the game, not making them "retarded!"
Jens is the guy who made lots of awesome updates- don't forget that.
But I think he should focus on existing features, tweaking and fixing, and when everything is just perfect and everyone is satesfied, he should add more content.
I honestly feel like the game is getting worse with each update. I started playing in beta 1.5, and up until beta 1.8 it was constantly getting better. After 1.8, though, it stopped being quite as fun. Worlds were a lot more repetitive, and the only things really getting added and updated were a few extra biomes and the so-called "Roleplaying" additions like potions, enchanting, and anvils. Oh and then there was the mob AI updates (which weren't all that bad, but they weren't great). On top of that, lag has increased immensely and terrain still sucks, and yet everyone is distracted by the new stuff. I can list at least three mods that have been or are going to be incorporated into the game that completely change the overall theme of the game. If I wanted to add stuff like horses, name tags, and all this new redstone stuff, I would add it myself. As it is, though, I don't want playing vanilla to feel like playing with mods. The only thing that I feel the game needs at this point is a satisfactory terrain generator. The current one give the worlds no real identifying features, except in extreme hills biomes, where there are so many odd landforms that it loses all value. so instead of fixing things like lighting and making the terrain actually matter, we get cosmetic stuff, sloppy beaches, and stuff that, honestly, doesn't really belong in vanilla. TL;DR: Minecraft is seriously going in the wrong direction. Not all of us are quite satisfied with shiny new features every few weeks. Sorry for ranting a bit.
nametags seemed like a good idea to me.
horses are awesome too. not a fan of the skeleton and zombie changes though.
i do agree that they haven't done enough with terrain and land generation enough though. i'd like them to focus on that kind of stuff again.
maybe add more biomes and more unique land generation. i swear every forest looks the exact same as the next. and improve the actual mechanics of the game more than just adding in new crap. for the longest time i was wishing they would add new animations or something. they should fix those lighting bugs they had started working on, fix some of the many glitches, etc.
in other words, they aren't going in a BAD direction... but not sure if its the best direction.. directions are subjective anyway. there is no right or wrong way.
They've been going down the right path with recent updates in my opinion. The content being added (at least for me) is really impacting gameplay and is adding quite a bit of variety. Even just having colored clay blocks has expanded the possibilities of what's at our disposal. Hopefully in the future they'll add more content to the weaker aspects of the game, like the ocean biomes and villages, but with that being said I really like what they've been implementing lately.

Potions, Enchanting, and Anvils are not "Roleplaying", as you put it, features. They are simply there to give the game more substance and to give the players more to make and do. I don't know about you, but I don't have any lag with recent updates, maybe it is your computer but mine is just fine. And what is wrong with adding in mods that people request be added? Also, just because you can add it in with a mod is NOT a valid reason to deny a feature, regardless of what your opinion is. There might be some people who can't or prefer not to play with mods, and so you just cost them a feature because you "can put it in yourself". So no, if you are going to dislike new updates, at least have a viable reason with some kind of substance behind it.

Actually, working a lot on horses and a thing like nametags makes lots of sense to me. You get to see the Enderdragon and the Wither for a few minutes of hectic fight compared to the countless hours you might spend on horseback carrying resources.
oh hi there
I dont own that gif by the way, dont sue me.
Praise be to Spode.
Agreed completely.

Well actually, He hasn't done much to the core game.
Hey everyone, I'm back!
I don't even see how that works. That isn't even the correct term for the way you are using it!

No, I am fake. Bought on Ebay for 5.99$
Well, I retreat (damn this word either) myself.
Until most of the guys are satestied.
This guy gets it.
...but that's just like, my opinion, man.
