I can see why people would want an ocean update. They're very very large, and very very boring. The reason why I disagree with such an update being a priority: the entire world is larger and is almost as boring (it has more content I suppose but after playing in it for a week or two it gets just as boring). Why give one biome a remedy to the whole boredom thing when, due to the state of the terrain generator, it will end up being just as boring as the others? Why not just fix the terrain generator (thereby actually making a part of the world more interesting) and get back to oceans in a biome update later?

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
I voted for an ocean update because oceans don't really have anything except plain water. Also, all that it is useful for is fishing and traveling from one island to another.

I feel like we're all hyping up for this Ocean update; HECK I want a big change to the Oceans and I feel 1.7 should bring it. Along with more aesthetic mobs, the red dragon, spikes, and some wild sponge. All things that have been put on a bucket list but not yet added.
But Mojang is just as likely to turn the tables on us.
We all thought 1.6 was going to be a mob update due to Jeb's announcement. All we got was the horse and donkey (all, however, very diverse including coats and the mule; but essentially all one mob) and a heep of nerfs, changes, and buffs. It seems since Dinnerbone joined; the process of updates has changed. Along with, and argueably so, the tone in which Mojang responds to requests and suggestions. They've become slightly more smart-alecky in responses and prone to taking smaller less-suggested game (*cough* breaking *cough*)changes.
We have no reason to suspect that any of those will be a focus of 1.7. Once we start getting snapshots, then we'll have a better idea of what to expect. As for what I want, I'm hoping for a terrain overhaul with better beaches, more height variation for most biomes, better biome transitions, and perhaps some improvements to oceans.
for the Ocean/Sea update thing i was thinking maybe add like a flooded temple? and maybe they can be rare (like regular temples) but maybe have loot too? and make it all like i don't know... old and mossy kind of thing happening around here and I'm sorry if i sound like i need it but maybe they should? what do you think? reply plz

A potion update is what the game needs. We were promised that the missing potions would be added long ago, but hardly any progress has been made (only two potions added [night vision and invisibility] since 1.0).
Why haven't the top 30 issues on the bug tracker been fixed yet? They are thee most annoying bugs in the game.
Terrain sucks, they need to fix that.
The current mobs are fine, instead of "improving" them, add some more unique mobs.

They might try to make the ocean more fun and cool to explore thats why its called an UPDATE

Yes, and they have not yet improved the current ones, therefore they won't be adding a new one. A WILD LOGIC APPEARED!
