and the Minecraft I know and love does not disadvantage it's players!
I am just gonna point out that it would not be Minecraft disadvantaging anyone if people don't use Horses, the players would be disadvantaging themselves by refusing to use the horses.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
Options: they're good. Not "Don't use it if you don't like it," but instead, "Hmm, should I use this, or that?" We can use horses or speed potions, horses or minecarts, etc. Horses can go anywhere, but minecarts need tracks. However, minecarts are an AFK transportation system. You get in, push a button or however you have it set up, and zoom off automatically. For horses, you have to hold W and steer.
Then there's horses vs. speed potions. You pretty much need to have a horse accessible when you start off, and a place to tie it up at your destination. For speed potions, you hold it in your inventory, drink it, then run. With a sufficient farm of food, sugar, and nether wart, you can do this indefinitely. Also, you don't need to tie up a potion effect.
I'm not sure if horses or Speed II potions are faster, but horses are good for quick long-distance travel, because I believe they don't have hunger, and feeding them heals health, like pre-1.8 for players. Because of this, you could ride a horse forever until you starve, or until the horse is killed off gradually by mobs or something.
Pig riding, however, is impractical, and always was, even with the ability to control them. And having one feature from many other games/movies (*coughzombiescough*) does not ruin the uniqueness of the game. Just the blocky atmosphere itself makes it unique. Sure, there are Minecraft clones, but none of them are as dynamic as Minecraft, especially when the Plugin API comes out. Another thing, creepers. Still another, redstone. I don't think I've ever seen a game with such a flexible circuitry system. A fourth: lack of guns. I mean come on, look around. A lot of games have guns in some form lately.
Either way, this thread has devolved into an argument over whether horses or pigs are better. Returning to the original point, Minecraft does not stop being unique just because they add horses.
"The debate usually ends when one side says "if you do not like what he adds do not use it" This will be impossible for the horse. Even if a player does not chose to use it those who do have an advantage over them, and the Minecraft I know and love does not disadvantage it's players!"
I don't like diamonds. Now every player with access to diamonds has an advantage on me.
That is what you are saying.
You started complaining about horses before being implemented. WOW! This shows how shallow minded you are. Also announcing that you are nt updating minecraft gives off this feeling of selfishness and self centered feeling about you.
What is wrong with you? Are you some sort of sadist that enjoys a person being hated for having a different opinion? 90% of your posts that I see include some sort of insult or degrading of another person, and I'm sick of you bashing people for just having an idea different from your own.
You sound more harmful than him. You are taking a near harmless thing to an overabundance of alligations.
The OP is being rude to Jeb, and mojang in general. He says that their ideas are terrible. I feel that jeb and mojang are doing a great job. If the op can express his opinion in a rude way, I think I should be able to do the same.
I haven't seen him say their ideas were terrible once. He did say Jeb wasn't doing his part, but that's one of the most civil ways of conveying that he doesn't agree with Jeb's doing.
As for you, finding enjoyment in hatred is extremely low, especially when your justification for it is due to someone else being, as you see it, rude. The difference between his 'rudeness' and yours: He's expressing that he doesn't agree with something, while you're making off-topic posts on how you enjoy the OP being hated.
I hope, for your sake and mine, that you begin to change your degrading ways, because they're not civil, nor do they belong.
You seem to be making a hissyfit over it. Degrading him. Do you see the irony. Also he said not really which means he doesn't mean to cause misery or get joy from it.
I would have to agree. If he presented his opinion in a softer, kinder manner people wouldn't get aggressive with him. It's not about WHAT you say it's about HOW you say it.
I have decided to not update my Minecraft anymore. This is not a protest, I simply am enjoying where it is currently at and will only be disappointed with future updates. If I want to add anything to my game I'm sure I can find a 1.5 mod for it. I will do this until a mod comes out that allows me to disable content in the game.
Yes you are 100% correct that there is a mod for anything mojang could add. But what is the point of making a statement like this? What you're really saying is that, instead of playing the updated game whenever a new release comes out, you want to be stubborn and stay on 1.5 because you happen to not like the new features? Are you by any chance a tekkit player? Because this sentiment rings a bell.
I can't believe you would deny yourself new features out of stubbornness. That's all this is.

Just build the darn thing already!
Me too. The guy seems like a jerk.

True. I agree.
Cry some more. Nobody really cares.
He is kinda stubborn.
Just build the darn thing already!
