I personally think that Minecraft doesn't need horses cause, here's why:
. We can ride pigs
. What would they drop?
. Could they breed?
. What would it look like in game?
.
Post what you think if Mojang should add horses or not and possibly give a reason.
I don't need to build this giant castle - I could just build a dirt hut. I don't need to make everything pretty. I don't need to build large redstone contraptions just to lock my front door. Minecraft doesn't need lapis, or colored wool, or chickens, or different trees. You know, minecraft doesn't need a lot of things.
Edit: God, now the word "need" sounds so stupid to me. Whenever I say it, I begin to think of "knees" and "bees."

I notice that none of your given reasons are actually reasons why horses shouldn't be added.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."
I'll give you three reasons right now why I think horses should be implemented:
1) New mobs are always welcome; the more mobs, the more variety, the better.
2) I personally think riding pigs is silly, and I'd much rather ride an animal that actually is meant for riding
3) Horses are implemented into a ton of mods and are a very popular mod feature
1) New mobs are always welcome; the more mobs, the more variety, the better.
Sure, as long as the game isn't over-saturated with mobs... The tricky thing about adding things like animals and other NPC-like entities is that of leveraging algorithms that properly dispurse them appropriately without subtracting from their abilities to be condensed.
For example, there's nothing wrong with adding every animal one can imagine into this game. However, to do this, you need to keep 2 things in mind:
1.) As a developer, you can't do *just* that and add them willy-nilly all over the place, paying no attention to their encounter frequency or spawn rates.
2.) You can't forget to also allow for the occassional pack to be discovered, too.
Consider pigs... We encounter pigs. Here's one, there's one... Etc. But there's never too many nor are there never any "groups"... This kind of "balancing act", I would imagine, would be very difficult to implement into AI.
So yes, I'm not at all opposed to having more and more mobs all the time as long as their distribution is leveraged effectively within the AI.
Well, being horses or not, I think they first should fix the problem that after a while you play at the same place of your world, all the passive mobs die at ravines/mountains/caves
After about 1 day playing at the same world, about 80% of the animals are gone

Well um We do need a new mount! Pigs are for the fun of it. Pigs are used as a car in most cases but! How about a new mount that can jump over fences and can jump and be controllable with the WASD keys! Something sooooo maybe we can have a real good mount?
And this is for the Bronys and Pegasisters! If they horses we will all be happy! So happy! We can use HD texterpacks!
And ride our favourite pony!
Pigs being in the game does not automatically make them useful. There's obviously a lot of room for more mobs, adding horses does not seem like that big of a deal.

They re-spawn, but much less frequently then in the Beta 1.7.3 and under system. I actually like the new system. You can't wall around an area, place torches, and get 10 pigs every night. Plus, it makes breeding more useful and killing all the animals you can see would actually have an impact.
Plus, they don't die that frequently as you said. In fact, much less frequently.
same thing! Why should we add a whole new mob to do the same thing a pig does?
But a horse wouldn't.
It wouldn't drop pork. It wouldn't be steered with a carrot on a stick. It could perhaps be made to jump on a button press, instead of when it comes to a block. It could jump 2 high block barriers. It could be fed with haybales to keep it energized. It could go more quickly. It could use a saddlepack. Just examples.
...I would rather horses than pigs... IMO pigs are rather useless. I prefer cows for my food, as they have a chance of dropping leather, and can be milked...
Maybe horses will drop horse hair? (to make rope?) or hooves (smelt for glue?)
-shrug- Mojang will add what they like, and you'll either use it, ignore it, or leave the game. Works for me.

Because cows and chickens aren't normal... Because zombies being an enemy isn't normal...

Chickens aren't normal, skeletons wielding bows aren't normal, trees aren't normal, lava isn't normal, sand isn't normal, spiders aren't normal...
/sarcasm
a lot of abnormal things, so wouldn't a horse not be normal for this game, thus making it not normal? Problem solved.
No, those things are pigs, not horses.
...but that's just like, my opinion, man.

Now tell me again how a horse equals a pig?

I don't even mind if it is only an aesthetic mob
