Hi, I haven't played MC since August, but from what I have heard about the recent updates...
Nether - I think it suffices for now. There's a lot more than can be done to it, but other things need to be addressed (keep reading)
The End - YES IT NEEDS ATTENTION. The End was literally a last-minute update when it was first mentioned. The End needs some serious work. I agree with Kholdstare, the guy above my post.
Overworld - Needs more attention than any other dimension. It has been that way since Beta-1.8. Regular-world terrain generation is absolutely bland, boring, repetitive, predictable, and disgusting.
People say that the End is fine because it's "just a boss dimension." I find that very unsatisfying.
If it's going to be "just a boss dimension," then at least have multiple islands spawn. You'll have multiple chances to battle the Ender Dragon, aren't as restricted in your supply of End Stone (theoretically speaking), and the End will actually be an infinite realm like the other two dimensions.
Of course, then you'll have the problem on how to hop from island to island. Super-rare enchantment for flight, anyone?
Everything can use improvement. That's just how things in this universe work.
Yes, the Nether needs improvement.
Indeed, the End needs improvement.
As always, the Overworld needs improvement.
But over the past year, what has received improvement and what has not? The Overworld and Nether have seen improvement beyond any Alpha player's wildest dreams. The End, however, has been addressed only in the fact that the Enderdragon was fixed to damage players after its initial attack.
It's not a matter of what needs improvement, it's a matter of how much improvement does everything need. The Overworld, as many (myself excluded) will argue, is horrible. But is it really horrible? Sure, it's not as random as 1.7.3 was, but it's extremely diverse. So many changes have been made to it since 1.8.1, it's rather crazy to me. And indeed, the Overworld can use some more changes - just as everything else can. But anyone who claims it to be broken is stuck in the past and ignorant of its currently good state.
Right now, I can play Minecraft and be content with the Overworld and Nether, and even content with the End. But the only reasons I go back to the End is for endstone, obsidian, XP and enderpearls. I go to the Nether for nether(brick/ack), blaze rods, gold nuggets, lava, soul sand, ghast tears, magma cream, XP, glowstone, and a challenge to survive. The Overworld... I, like 99% of Minecrafters, live there, as well as get everything not obtained from the other realms from there, ranking it in the least need of improvement.
TL;DR: The End needs the most improvement, second being the Nether, and lastly being the Overworld.
The end...
Just because it is a boss dimension it doens't means it must be bad. The End is empty, too empty. It is finite, only has endstone and towers.
Actually was supposed to be the Skylands and not a boss-dimension.
True, Notch was originally going to have it that, but he ran out of time, so he made it the end instead. I want the sky dimension so bad. But the others need work, including the end.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.

And due to running out of time he also screwed up the overworld terrain that has YET to be fixed.
At least the overworld is more than a floating chunk of a single item. So I would go with the end and also, it is too luck based, getting to the end.
Personally, i'd rather go to a small pretty place than an infinite ugly place.
In all honesty they're both ugly, but as it stands the End is a boss dimension (which can be changed) and thus prettiness (and the dimension itself as well) aren't really as important. On the other hand, the overworld is always used and it is in desperate need of improvement, so it should be the primary priority until the terrain is fixed.
For me, I find the vanilla game unplayable due to the terrain. It wouldn't matter to me how much you fixed up the end, since I wouldn't be progressing that far in a normal game anyway.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

Calm down, they will do something about it. Especially when you send a letter
Can't say anything until the fat lady sings.
Dinnerbone is a girl?
