("Use a Texture pack" comments will be reported for trolling. I have said countless times to please quit this, but none of you learn. It is off topic. I am not asking for your reason why you like the change or don't care. i am looking for people that agree.)
Before commenting, please remember this was a PETITION.
It was not a threat.
It was not a demand.
It was not something i would die for.
Please be rational when commenting. Do not suggest a texture pack. This has been suggested and considered. I still feel i would rather keep the foundation of minecraft itself original rather than changing it for myself only. I do not want to have to constantly edit the terrain.png just to keep it the same.
Quit insulting me like i demanded this change. I'm not allowed to have an opinion?
I have to like everything in game?
If you came here to insult me for my SUGGESTION, you're ignorant and pathetic.
Don't forget the contrast! The dark outlines made it easier for the eyes to focus on each item. Here, let me explain it to you
See this tv? it has black outlies, even tough they cut some of the screen of they make it easier for the eyes to focus on what's happening on tv.
Now this one
This one doesn't have any borders, it makes the tv seem larger but it doesn't help the eyes block out what's happening behind or next to the tv.
Guess which one is easier to watch stuff on?
The answer is the one with the borders and that's similar to why the dark outlines on items should be kept

When i saw the new food i noticed they looked like they were from a texture pack or mod, not the same look minecraft has (BLACK OUTLINE, less shading)

I wish the planted ones looked a little more minecrafty too, but that's just me.
Pretty dense accusation here. All they need really is a dark outline like the rest of the foods and they instantly fit and look much less realistic, taking away attention from the superior shading as well. I did it myself and it turned out fine.
As for the topic, everything new to Minecraft is a bit unsettling at first. Compared to what you've played with for two or more years, all the new stuff feels a bit out of place, like a new kid sitting down at your lunch table. But after a bit you learn the kid plays D&D and suddenly you're burning down a tavern together and robbing the wenches as they flee from the fiery inferno. Looking back, all those odd glances back when he was new all seem superfluous.

Agreed. This looks much better.
On my own opinion I think this is great. Surely Steve? is getting tired of eating mostly bread, melon, chicken, beef, and pork, with the occasional fish, stew, apple, cookies and cake. What I REALLY want is cooking in a cauldron (using it as a water source for potions would still work though) to make hybrid meals like steak and mash potatos (raw beef, raw potato, and milk).
I agree with the fact that a simple dark outline around them will make everyone happy. If the textures remain how they are, there's bound to be someone to make a texture pack to suit the people who would prefer it otherwise.

Yeah, most likely I'm going to edit these textures myself. That's why I have my texture pack in the first place.
Hey guys keep telling me i'll get used to it rather than giving your opinion on one of the two options, 'cuz that's totally what this thread is about
Actually this thread is about a petition to retexture the actual sprites and not our opinions according to the title.
If you actually read my post, people agree that the dark outline fixes the problem (what's hilarious is that little to no people said to 'get over it' at all).

I cannot tell you how much it infuriates me when people say "HERP DERP DONT LIKE IT USE A TEXTURE PAK HERP HERP HERP" Because that doesn't change the fact that everyone else will see it as what it currently is.

Actually, i can count at minimum 3 people that say "you will get used to it"
>Implying i ever said no opinions (i said don't tell me to get used to it, i didnt say no opinions)
>Implying i ever said dark outline was a bad idea
I cannot tell you how much it infuriates me when the OP obnoxiously ignores the stressed opinion (black outline in my post is liked apparently) and get angry at the unimportant parts of their posts.

Well you see, I doubt people are going to use carrots and potatoes for pixel art/detailed building.
The point of that argument is that if a texture pack is required to make a build look good, people without the texture pack will see the build as ugly. That's not the case here.
They look OK. My only problems are that it's hard to distinguish individual carrots in the carrot sprite, and that it's difficult to tell what the various potato sprites are.

So why are you shitting yourself and making a big deal out of the 2nd part of his argument, which is clearly a secondary option in case Dinnerbone misses this thread, and not looking that the first part of posts after mine said they liked the black outline (which is a valid opinion in this case). You literally looked for the only post to say "use a texture pack", or the people who didn't think about the black line for a solution.
Are you trying to be offended or what, this rage is unnecessary.

I am ninja'd far too often.
the issue is that they look bad, it's that they don't have the same "theme" as minecraft textures, i guess
Someone get Dinnerbone to read this or something.
That would certainly be surprising, definitely.
