Minecraft 1.4 has already been turning out to be a great update, even with after one snapshot. There is one question many people may be asking: When will it be released?
When do you think it will be released?
(I voted for November)

I'm still using Windows 7.
I said this. Two days later, my computer's motherboard melted down and I had to get a new one with Windows 8.
Wasn't there a bit of down time without snapshots after 1.2.5? They had a well known objective for 1.4 months before 1.3 came out and they started the snapshots super fast. So I'm going to guess in the Late October, Early November area at the latest. We'll see.

Under no circumstances do I want villagers building ugly little houses in my world. That's my job. Link Removed
Probably in December (Christmas update would be awesome). If they however decide 1.4 WILL have the mod api, it will come out when half-life 3 comes out.
Well I'm hoping it'll be October, but I voted for November. I think they'll keep adding features till the API is satisfactory, then there might be a week or two of bug fixing, then release. Hopefully the API won't take too long.

I like the idea of it because that's when Minecraft 1.0 was released.

I hope so, and that it will come before November. But the Modding API could still take a while.

Hope to god it can be another Halloween update.
Since when? Most updates take 1 or 2 months to complete. The only exceptions I can think of are 1.8, Full Release, and 1.3.
Star Trek DS9 and Doctor Who FTW.
Heck yeah. It would be a great Halloween update. I hope it comes out then too.
