I understand that animals can go through portals, and hopefully there aren't too many fools who read the thread title and go "Herp derp your an idiot they can now." My question isn't can animals pass through nether portals. It's if there is a simple way of making them not immediately go for a return trip. To the point:

No, actually. In the overworld they need to step away from the portal and reenter to go back. So why is this not implemented on the other side? :/
