I know the hunger bar gets a lot of discussion on these boards, but it seems like most of it is negative. I'd like to balance it out and give my thumbs-up to Notch for implementing it.
Since we got the hunger bar, I've been much more confident about charging into the caves and taking on the skellies and the zombies. As long as I keep it topped up and pace myself, I've got infinite hearts. :biggrin.gif:
OT for this thread is to express how the hunger bar has made your game better. If you feel it hasn't, or if you feel it's made your game worse, there are other threads for you. (In fact, I think I saw one on the front page. :smile.gif: ) Also, you can talk about challenges the hunger bar has presented and how you overcome them, as long as you do it in a positive manner.

Half the people here, I think, would say that exact same thing as a negative. :blink.gif:
From what I've heard, most people seem to complain that the hunger bar makes things more difficult for them since they now have to manage food. Maybe you've heard a different side of the argument than I have. I'd expect different members of the community to have different priorities, such as not dying vs. being adventurous. I'm more of a not dying type. :smile.gif: As I see it, though, it's easy to get around this with the hunger bar. Just keep your hunger at 8 or below and your hearts become limited again. And for more of a challenge, see how long you can stand it at 0 on Normal. :biggrin.gif:
I love the hunger bar too. I love actually thinking about food and building my little society in a way where I can get to it. I might actually consider ramping up the difficulty on my server a little now which I never would have before - it would be exciting now to figure out how to keep us alive :biggrin.gif:
Though I think the other players would lynch me :sad.gif:
LOL. I've been inspired to create a supermarket someday with dispensers. It would give me someplace to put all the wheat I'm growing.
