I see people whining about hunger and food and how it has "ruined the game" or the games PvP (Btw, in my own opinion, this games pvp is a joke lol. It's whoever can mash the fire button quicker and jump faster). And all this stuff about how the things implemented should have been a long time ago.
Why is this? I love Minecraft, have been playing for a while, and honestly.. I think you guys are lucky to have developers in this game actually care and listen to the community. Unlike World of Warcraft / Blizzard, in WoW we're getting a feature that people have been asking to have for five years.. Five years, and they just now got the message.
My favorite game is World of Warcraft. But my favorite community is the Minecraft community, don't blow this out proportion with your senseless QQ threads. Think of what you got, like Creative Mode. This thing is awesome, don't think about the bugs, or the things you didn't get that you asked for.. Or the things you DID get and didn't ask for, but for some reason are still angry.
Let's look at 1.7. 1.6. 1.5. 1.4. Wolves, weather, new terrain generation, ect. Let's look at the pre-halloween theories. Let's look at almost every update since Alpha. There are many people who look forward to the game becoming bigger and better, and get along with the changes, and have the maturity to report bugs in a timely manner without making a rant.
Now with that group there's the other half. The half that dislikes every update and bug that comes with owning the beta of a game. They don't want their game to change, they're quite happy with the slightly-buggy and unfinished earlier counterpart. Having to update, whilst it gives updates, is a pain because you have to deal with the bugs, and they don't seem to have the maturity or commonsense to do a good deed and report their bugs, or they do but add in more cuss words than a sailor would use in a 4 year term in the Navy.
This is a discussion board, and each group is entitled to their opinion, however well thought out or completely ******** spewed it is. We, as the forum users, have to understand that fact and get on with it. Want to make a statement? Ignore the bug reports and rant threads that aren't constructive, and are just complete unreadable crap. Get the threads that offer solutions to the bugs they present on the front page, and keep them there. Show the majority of this forum that we're not a bunch of teenagers with nothing better to do than *****, we're a bunch of individuals who want to make this game better, and are sick and tired of seeing the people trying to hinder that progress.
I know if I were Notch, I would have at least thrown in the ability to enable/disable entire sets of features. Maybe I'm too spoiled by Dwarf Fortress where I can change so many different parameters rather than Minecraft where either you have to be capable of modding or just get access to only the seed.
Yes it is a beta. But Dwarf Fortress is an alpha and will remain that way for a long time to come.

Let's not forget to add the group of Notch fanboys who love every update no matter what the content is and promises to smite those who disagree.

If you add something to the game that is so bad to the point where you have to have a toggle for it, then it shouldn't be in there. My point is, you can't just have a toggle for everything. Could you imagine, when you start a Minecraft world, you saw a screen like this (except with Minecraft options).

Well put. It's a shame the people that hate every update seem to have the loudest textual voices most of the time. Lol but yes, this... Very much this.

Clearly the problem is people like different things, not that they're 'bad' but people prefer otherwise. with the exception of mineshafts, towns and maybe reduction in ravines 1.8 was amazing for me, if I could remove/reduce those, I'd do it.
Notch has stated before that he intends to have a simple world gen with maybe 3 game types and then another advanced page with more options, personally, something like that pic makes me giddy, being able to remove every feature I don't agree with individually. In Oblivion I found the leveling system harsh, unforgiving, and unfun, I won't play it without mods, some of these had pages of options I had to set when I first played, but you do it ONCE and it's set, if you care about the features you'd look for the ones you want, if you don't it defaults to everything, how is that bad?
that option is already present in the game atleast dungeons, stronghold, mine shafts, villages not sure if ravine included.
reduce/remove.
I want to keep strongholds
reduce mineshafts/ravines
remove villages.
I know about the structures option, it doesn't have the granularity I want.

Be happy lol, better off over here than in WoW.
