...sort of. I still think that "hunger" and "experience" are horrible ideas no matter how they're implemented, and that they drag the patch down by quite a bit. However, 1.8 has reminded me of all of the things that bugged the **** out of me up until now, and which I had gotten too accustomed to. Food-stacking, for example. I can now throw 60 raw pork chops and 40 planks into a furnace, walk away, and come back 10 minutes later to find 60 cooked pork chops waiting for me. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG TO GET THIS FIXED? Oh, and there's the fact that pigs are no longer the only animals that are made of meat. It looks like someone finally built a McDonald's in Sweden. This alone easily makes up for the hunger nonsense.
And wait, where are all these apples coming from? For that matter, why have I never actually seen one for the past two f**king years, even though they were technically supposed to exist? You mean an item that was supposed to be part of the game this whole time actually works now? Awesomesauce!
A server list so I don't have to type the bloody IP every time I switch servers. Awesomesauce. Again, why did something so obvious take so long to fix?
Chests actually open and close when you open and close them! I found this unsettling at first, but I'll get used to it.
The bow no longer sucks. Endermen are even willing to hold still for me while I aim at them
Stone bricks: we no longer need third-party texture packs to make castles that actually look like castles rather than just rectangular piles of pebbles
New reddish/bluish lighting... very cool. I suspect that it will be much cooler when the bugs get fixed.
Ravines seemed kind of stupid to me at first. After a few seconds of pondering, I built a bunch of glass bridges across one of 'em. And there's lava at the bottom! And it's BADASS! Thank you, Notch! BTW, if you've never seen an underground chasm with a river of lava at the bottom and glass bridges going across it, you're really missing out on what 1.8 has to offer.

I found an underground ravine last night with a lava bottom that went on for ages. Reminded me of mines of Moria from LotR, it was majestic. I had seen a cool ravine before this, but this one blew me away.
Passive mobs spawn 400 times less often now. Yay for 1.8!!!
Yeah, this one does really bug me. On the Super-Earth.net server, I'm likely to have full diamond armor before I can make anything with leather. I'm hoping that this is fixed soon.
Another thing that bugs me is that I can't just hold left click down to keep attacking anymore; I have to spam-click instead, which is extremely annoying.

I wonder if you find yourself to be a deep individual to realize what everyone else already knew after this period of time. I now have a picture of you in my mind sitting in a cafe contemplating the rain . . . What are you french?
ANYWAYS, congratulations on realizing your mistake. Certainly a full apology letter addressed to the so called "list" of people who delivered sound arguments against your ranting must be issued; for both wasting their time, and casting ill willed titles like "retarded" to them.
That is if you had the gumption . . . which I assume you don't . . . basically I don't expect much from a person who makes hasty assumptions but backs out after they sit and have a complete thought.

I applaud you completely! I mean it is great that you stuck to your first opinion and defended it, really well. (1.8 sucks). Now I find it even more awesome, that you come and tell us your mistake! People like you, I am happy for, if they see THEY make a mistake and say sorry for it. Then my respect for them goes up.
I am just saying this because some people don't like 1.8 and I bet some don't like 1.7 and so on down. Heck I bet you anything. That at least ONE person still only plays on ALPHA XD
Wow your such an ass hole even your compliments are insults. you can't say 1 nice thing with out saying atleast 3 bad things to ballence it out. Why don't you just go back to the cave you cralled out and leave everyone else allone!
