i seem to have a problem with java running out of memory. i have wacthed the taskmaneger and seenit hit about 9 hundread thou and the game crashes with the message that java has run out of memory. i have checked the memory setting in the java consol but it is set to 1000 MB and wont let me add more to it. how do i fix this so ican enjoy the game more than 5 min. or less at a time?
To me it seems like either a memory leak (which is or isn't clamped [cut off] before a crash as sometimes I see memory use steadily climb to around 45% before suddenly dropping to 10% and repeating this trend a few times). Or to improve average fps more things are being retained in memory for a longer period of time; leading to memory filling up quicker.
I'm having the same problem. It used to always happen when I used the client-version, but never happened when I used the browser-version, so I just started using the browser-version. Now, after the 1.8 update, it happens to me all the time whether I'm using the browser or the client. This was not a problem in the pre-release either, only in the official 1.8 update.
i provide reasoning for why java shouldn't have memory leaks, and you just come by with anecdotal evidence and said it's false? That's like saying "derp global warming isn't real because because i see snow outside"). try to be like Cobrastrike1765, who provides reasoning, okay?
