I would ask that the speculation and random goofy posts stop.
There are no knew 'hidden plants' in 1.8, thus, only Vines, Melons, Pumpkins, giant mushrooms and such should be discussed, and their possible uses.
if you have good ideas for additions, there's the Suggestion board. :tongue.gif:
And goofy posts just get threads locked. *looks up and coughs*
Not trying to boss folk around, but try to establish order back on this board. It's for discussion, not off-topic rambling and speculation, as stated by the main sticky about the purpose of this Board. And yes, I'll be on the 1.9 board too, to drive you guys nuts! Fear the nagging-Kat! >=D hehe.
Or I might drive the mods insane with my reports, and get banned because of it. *shrug* who knows. :tongue.gif:
aw come on dont lock it i just want a topic that people can discuss the new plants in 1.8! Jeez i dont remember how many of my posts you removed before this... :dry.gif:
I would like plants that can grow underwater. Mangroves, more realistic reeds, kelp. Coral would be a nice addition, as well. As for fruit, I am hoping that apples and cocoa beans will become regularly available through farming. In the far future, perhaps bananas, pineapples, coconuts...

*points at quote above* Also discussing badgers and enderman is not about plants.

I too would absolutely ADORE real underwater content, massive 5-20+ tall kelp forests, sponges and growths, coral reefs, and of course, some whacky minecraft-only additions for some added fun, like maybe giant brain-coral? :tongue.gif:
I'm personally surprised Apples and Cocoa aren't dropped by trees yet... seems very... sloppy to have to find dungeons to have a CHANCE to find a piece of fruit x.x
We shouldn't speculate though! Mean Mod's will bite us and suck our blood out! >.>
Though, I find melon's odd. They are yellowish, yet sliced, they are green like watermelon... *scratches head*
Last I remember melons did not look green, Watermelons, yep. But Melons are a different species.

Actually, the watermelon in the Creative selection screen has the initial texture. As the watermelon ripens, it gets greener. At least, that's what I've heard. It sounds a bit like wheat. Maybe they don't drop slices until they're ripe.

Yep indeed it does... And slices? why would watermelon drop slices? i was thinking you actually have to place the watermelon in the crafting table to actually "slice" it
Fine. Promise not to talk about anything totally unrelated.
Actually, if you keep it at least related to plants, while also making a constructive 1.8 discussion point, it would be fine.
Just posts with ONLY off-topic silliness, and nothing of constructive additions, is what is the problem. Not trying to be a hard-butt, but I want this to sink into the skulls of users so we can have a more enjoyable 1.8 (and 1.9!) discussion board, as this board is likely a 'test' to see if it's worth the hassle, and if it's a spam filled, pile of refuse, they are less likely to make a 1.9 or 2.0(?) board, which would suck greatly! >.<
So let's just try to keep on topic, AND have fun at the same time :smile.gif:
Most used crop in the world I think.

If you look at the endermen then look away, they become hostile.

Off-topic post.
If you wear a pumpkin on your head, then stare at an enderman, they do NOT attack you, as they cannot see if you are staring at them presumably.
Unrelated topic! Please stop posting these...

Look for it in my Aliencraft mod/texture pack when it's released
Because we want to discuss the new plants in 1.8, so that later guests can look over this topic and learn.
